The port of Duisburg is the largest river harbour of
the world, located in Europe and among the top 100
container ports of the world. The complete harbour
area has a total area of 13 km², and extends from
the wet docks at the Ruhr mouth along the Rhine
River up to Duisburg-Rheinhausen.

The continuous development of intermodal container handling systems is essential for the
expansion of the combined transport capabilities
throughout the European mainland. Especially in
this sector, Kuenz is well-known as an innovative
and highly competent manufacturer of high-quality
container handling cranes. Every crane is equipped
with a semi-automatic positioning system for both,
crane and trolley.
The law of continuity.
First in April 2006, a Kuenz RMG Crane was put
into operation at the DIT terminal located in the
logistic centre „logport“. The RMG intermodal
crane system is a substantial improvement for
fast-growing rail container traffic. The crane is
designed as a double-girder container gantry
crane with superstructure and has impressive
operating performance.

Then in March 2007 Kuenz delivered another
crane with a similar design for the PKV terminal,
operated by DUSS. The crane is equipped with a
Kuenz spreader which was especially made for
interchangeable truck bodies and designed according to the building codes and standards of the
Deutsche Bahn AG (German Federal Railway).

Crane Management System (CMS).
Each crane is equipped with a crane management
system developed by Kuenz. This system offers online support for the crane driver and maintenance
staff, and additional practical assistance for preventive maintenance, thus guaranteeing a smooth
operation.

Indicator and diagnosis

Then in July 2007 the Rhein-Ruhr-Terminal in the Duisburg
Parallelhafen started operating a Kuenz River Harbour
RMG crane. This trimodal container crane is designed as a
single-girder crane with rectangular girder structure, which
