Mâconnais
Appellation Village
Pouilly Fuissé is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes. The production
is small (700 hectares planted) and cover steep slopes of the
village of Fuisé, Solutré, Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré, on which the soils are a
mixture of clay and chalk from the Jurassic era.
White
100% Chardonnay
Wine making
One part of the wine is fermented in vats and the other in oak barrels in order
to have a fresh and fruity wine with a good structure.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy
Maison Louis Jadot produces a Pouilly Fuissé with emerald gold tones which
reflect a wine of finesse and distinction; the tasting is harmonious, fresh, full of
flavours with hazelnuts, toasted almonds, grapefruit and lemon aromas.
It must be served rather cool and goes very well with shellfish, fish, white meat
in cream sauce and poultry.
Preservation
Pouilly Fuissé is pleasant to drink young, but can be aged in cellar a long time
(5-8 years) to develop a superb complex bouquet.
