There is a city tennis court in our area that is in disrepair. My
kid use the court on a regular basis for tennis, soccer and
lacrosse. We really love having the court and a backboard
would also be a great addition. I heard that it was slated for
resurfacing, but needs more than that. I understand that the
City is considering a major overhaul of the court. My family and
many of those around us would greatly appreciate an improved
court. thank you for your consideration.

I am writing to express my deep concern over the future status
of tennis court at Johanna Marsh. As the president of our
neighborhood association, Arden Hills# 3, comprised of
approximately 60 homes), I called and spoke with Sarah at the
city in August about the status of the court and was told there
was a bid out for resurfacing it but that depending on the
responses, it may not happen yet this summer. As I now
understand it the maintenance work has been shifted to next
summer. Many kids and adults utilize this court every year and
several kids from the neighborhood have gone on to play
tennis for our Mounds View schools. Please, know that the
tennis court is a highly valuable asset that our community uses
and appreciates. It was a priority during the street
reconstruction so much so that the community advocated to not
give it up to storm water management space and instead
agreed to maintain other rain gardens to retain the court. It is
part of our neighborhood' s history, identity and culture ( we
have had weekly summer tennis lessons for kids offered every
summer for nearly ten years now, provided by a resident that is
also a high school tennis coach). The court is a focal point that
brings our neighborhood together for fun, fitness, and
community. Please, do all that you can to respect our
community and help us retain this incredible asset. Thank you

My daughter broke her wrist on the tennis court in our
neighborhood because it hasn' t been resurfaced. It was
supposed to be resurfaced 2 years ago, but the company that
was hired never showed up. Now the costs to resurface it have
gone up and it sounds like the city is putting off resurfacing it.
The residents in Arden Hills No 3 Association would like the
Arden Hills Staff and City Council to know that we are very
concerned about our tennis court. We want to make sure it gets
repaired next year. This tennis court is an important part of our
community and we feel it is the city's responsibility to make
sure that it is in good working order.

The residents in Arden Hills No 3 Association would like the
Arden Hills Staff and City Council to know that we are very
concerned about our tennis court. We want to make sure it gets
repaired next year if possible. We had been informed that our
tennis court would be re- surfaced but this has not happened
yet. It sounds like the project is more work than anticipated and
now will be more expensive to repair but we feel this is an
important part of our community. One of our residents has
generously given free tennis lessons to our kids throughout the
years and many of us enjoy the use of this space. We would
enjoy it even more if there was a backboard available to
practice as well.
