Saturday General Session
8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Survive & Thrive in a Weak Economy
Dr. Joe Webb will present a three-part program dealing with the economy, opportunities and strategies for surviving and thriving during the ‘recession’. The meeting will start with his review of the economy and where it’s headed. He’ll discuss drivers of print demand and the audiences for print materials, the positive and negative effects of new media, and other factors. “Dr. Joe” will also review seven strategies available to print businesses. Attendees then will confer in roundtable discussions to determine, with their peers, the pros and cons of implementing these strategies in their businesses. The session will close with a wrap-up of key action items to implement the ideas of the session. He will discuss upcoming changes in communication markets, the economy, social, and other factors that affect the demand and use of print. With the presidential election being just days before, you’ll be privy to “Dr. Joe’s” insights and forecasts before any other industry audience and be prepared for what this means for your business and the industry. “Dr. Joe” will be working with session attendees to assess and test a wide range of business strategies that printing businesses of all sizes can use to create new relationships with clients and prospects and adapt to the rapidly changing business environment. He will debunk many industry myths and some common wisdom along the way, giving print entrepreneurs new profit-making ideas and actions.
Dr. Joe Webb is the director of WhatTheyThink.com’s Economics and Research
Center. He is one of the graphic arts industry’s best-known consultants, forecasters, and
