SUMMARY
All Traffic (Sessions)
Sessions to KentuckyTourism.com have increased compared to Aug-14 (38.6%).
Mobile/Tablet
Sessions to KentuckyTourism.com via a mobile/tablet device reached 195,842 this month or 59% of all
traffic.
This chart shows mobile phone usage higher on the weekends as opposed to last month when mobile
phone usage was higher during the week too.
Sales Leads (Exit Links) to Partner Website-Social Site
Sales leads to partner sites (in the form of clicks off site to a partner) reached 75,282 total leads this month,
up from 59,990 including both website and mobile site in Aug-14.
Desktop traffic accounted for 37,219 clicks; mobile phones accounted for 28,652 clicks and tablets 9,411.
Sales Leads to Event Detail Page
Desktop traffic accounted for only 19,825 clicks to an event detail compared to 25,481 from a phone and
5,603 clicks from a tablet.
Sales Leads to Business Detail Page
Desktop traffic accounted for 68,916 clicks; mobile phones accounted for 52,908 clicks and tablets 19,198.
“Loretta Lynn’s Butcher Holler” had the most business detail clicks from Jan-Mar, but then “Big South Fork
Scenic Railway” moved into first place from Apr-Aug, followed closely by “Red River Gorge.”
I don’t know how much these are affected by the specific attraction being featured or in the top position of
the Attractions landing page.
Leisure E-newsletter
The Leisure E-newsletter drove 3,409 sessions to the site this month for a total of 227 goal conversions. Of
that total 2,286 (67%) were new visitors and 1,123 (33%) were returning visitors.
To-date in 2015, Leisure E-news has driven 25,265 sessions with new visitors accounting for 16,640 (66%)
and returning visitors 8,625 sessions or 34%.
There were 3 section links in the e-news back to the tourism site. The main link to “Get Your Food Fix at the
Kentucky State Fair” had 798 p/views from e-news followed by “Plan a Labor Day Picnic with These KY
Recipe” with 631 p/views.
Organic Search
Organic search traffic remains the top channel driving traffic and accounted for 253,641 sessions (76% of all
traffic) this month and also drove 42,498 unique conversions.

Articles
There were 8,976 sessions to all articles this month which was a drop from last month (15,253 sessions)
and a bigger drop compared to Aug-2014 at 22,787 sessions.
July-2015 featured several restaurant/dining articles with the largest one being “Lake Cumberland Fun” with
over 5,000 p/views. This article was promoted in e-news and in social as well.
Aug-2014 top article was the “New Outlet Mall” with over 12,000 p/views and at least 3 others all above
1,000 p/views.

What Do Marketers Think of YouTube Data and Analytics?
YouTube to maintain biggest share of US video ad revenues through 2017
eMarketer.com
Despite an increasingly competitive environment in which established players and startups alike are
venturing headfirst into video content and advertising, YouTube has continued to deliver strong financial
results and robust usage stats. The Google-owned platform is poised for further success as marketers
continue to regard it as an essential element in their branded content and advertising campaigns,
according to a new eMarketer report, “YouTube Advertising: Why Google’s Platform Will Stay on Top.”
YouTube’s gross ad revenues worldwide will reach $9.50 billion this year, a 25.0% gain, eMarketer
estimates. (Google does not break out YouTube revenues separately.) YouTube’s global net ad
revenues—a figure derived after subtracting the company’s traffic and content acquisition costs—will
reach $4.28 billion in 2015, up 40.6%. This means that YouTube’s net-to-gross margin will have improved
steadily over the forecast period, indicating increased efficiency in its advertising operations.
Growth in YouTube’s net US video ad revenues will drop to 6.2% in 2017. During this time, YouTube’s
share of the video ad market will also recede. These decreases reflect growing competition in the space
as Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Vimeo and others push further into ad-supported video. However, even at a
17.7% share of total video ad revenues in 2017, YouTube will remain the biggest player in this area.
