PVA Glue
Using Formica® PVA Glue in Civil Construction
F
ormica® PVA based glue can also be used to
prepare a filler that can be used for leveling off
ceramic or masonry surfaces, and correcting small
defects such as cracks, faults and little depressions in
walls or mortar beds.
This procedure is very often used when treating
surfaces that will be covered with Formica®
(Formiwall and Formipiso), wallpaper, vinyl floor
coverings, wooden flooring, floating floors etc.
Personal Protective Equipment
• Hand protection: PVC gloves;
• Eye protection: safety glasses or a face protector.
First Aid
Swallowing:

• If the patient is awake, give him/her water or milk.
• Do not induce vomiting.
Preparing the Leveling Filler
Add 150g Formica® PVA Glue and
450ml water for every 1kg of cement.
Homogenize perfectly by mixing
together until a consistent paste is
formed.
Preparing the base and applying the filler
The (ceramic or masonry) base must
be sandpapered and show no signs of
dampness, dust or oil. The leveling
filler must be applied using a metallic
mortarboard (maximum leveling
thickness of 3 mm). The curing time
can range from 48 to 72 hours,
according to the environmental
conditions in the place where it is
applied.
