After much hard work and promotion, Alleghenies
Unlimited Care Providers is happy to present
Johnstown’s first Little Red Mailbox! The idea was
brought to light by our own Tasha Adams after
noticing that there was a Little Red Mailbox in the
Outer Banks, NC. The mailbox is placed at Point
Park in Downtown Johnstown. If you open the
mailbox, you will find a notebook and pen where you
are free to write words of peace, hope, and inspiration
to the next visitor. Below are just a few pictures from
the event on April 14th, but you can also visit our
Facebook page to view more pictures!

May is Mental Health Awareness
Month
1 in 5 adults and 1 in 5 children in America will
experience a mental health condition within the next
year, however, almost everyone is affected in some
way by mental health conditions in a family member
or friend. It is important to understand behaviors
that may be manifesting in a person. Here is a list of
signs to pay attention to:







Excessive worrying or fear
Feeling excessively sad or low
Extreme mood changes
Changes in eating habits
Low energy
Abuse of alcohol or drugs
Suicidal thoughts or comments (even if they
seem like jokes)
If you or someone you know is displaying signs of a
mental health condition, encourage that person to
seek counseling, report to our office (if a consumer),
or call your local crisis hotline.
