Come out and join the Fitness Center’s Hakuna-Ma-Ta Tas Breast Cancer
Awareness 3-Mile Run/Walk, starting at the CE Pavilion
on Cypress Road. Participation is FREE and open to all base personnel,
retirees and family members. Wear pink to show your support!
Spectators are always welcome. Following the race, a Breast Cancer
Awareness Costume Contest will be held, with prizes awarded to the "Most

Customer Appreciation & Membership Drive
Friday, October 16 | 4:30-7:30 pm
All base personnel and family members are invited to a free appreciation event featuring live entertainment
and heavy hors d’oeuvres including finger sandwiches, hot wings, BBQ meatballs, deviled eggs, stuffed
mushrooms, and more. ITT will be on hand to give away a Dolphin Cruise for two and Dell will give away a
tablet. Other giveaways include FSS Gift Cards, Brunch for two and a weekend stay at the Destin’s Embassy

The Eglin Auto Shop is a full-service car repair shop for minor repairs and
tune-ups, as well as a do-it-yourself mechanic’s playground with all the
bays, lifts, tools and equipment needed to get the project done right.
The facility is located at the first light inside the East Gate to the right
of the Thrift Shop and is open to all base personnel and their families.
For your convenience, there is also a 24-hour car wash adjacent to

Integrated Learning Center (ILC) Open Tech Labs
Thursdays | 10 am–12 pm
Do you have technology questions or need further assistance with OverDrive and Zinio? Bring your eReaders, tablets, laptops or
other electronic devices and stop in anytime during Open Tech Labs for one-on-one assistance on a variety of computer topics.
Registration is not required and the lab is first-come, first-served. If you are unable to attend open tech hours, call 850-882-9308
for an appointment.
Toddler Time: Reading, Songs & More
1st and 3rd Tuesdays | 10–11:30 am
Toddlers ages 0-4 are invited to a special time of reading and fun activities hosted by Eglin’s Integrated Learning Center. Toddler
Time is held in Bldg. 2579, the Bubble Building, located just down the street from Eglin Elementary. For questions, call

Bundles for Babies

Expectant parents from all branches of service are invited to this informative and fun-filled workshop at the Airman & Family
Readiness Center that focuses on budgeting for the baby(s) and identifies programs available to all families. Those attending

Deployed Spouse Lunch & Laugh

This fun and informative time to get together for lunch and laughs is also designed to educate spouses on deployment support
resources, provide networking opportunities, and enhance coping skills. Child care is available through Eglin’s Family Child Care

Tips for Federal Employment

Applying for a federal job using the USAJOBS website may seem overwhelming at times. Come learn how to navigate USAJOBS,
create and manage your account, and analyze job announcements. You will receive tips on how to tailor your federal résumé
and avoid making the common mistake of submitting a generic two-page résumé to apply for a federal job. Call the Airman &

8th Annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest Tickets
Friday and Saturday, October 16-17
The Best Beer Fest on the Emerald Coast is held at Sandestin’s Baytowne Wharf and features more than 200 domestic and
international beers and 40 craft brewers. In addition to beer sampling, there will be on-site craft brewers, seminars, and live

Fishing Clinic 101
Saturday, October 17 | 10 am
A professional instructor will teach basic techniques of fishing including baiting, casting, reeling, and fish identification. Basic
shore fishing of the bay will be taught all in a fishing environment. Cost is $25 for ages 11 and up for the 2-hour class. A free
shoreline fishing license is required to participate. Younger children ages 6-10 with parental supervision may also participate.
Price includes use of all equipment and bait needed to complete the class. Call Outdoor Recreation to reserve a date. Class
dates are subject to rescheduling due to weather. 850-882-5058
FootGolf Tournament
Saturdays | October 17 | Register 3 pm, Play 3:30 pm
The Eglin Golf Course invites everyone to bring family and friends out to play in outrageously fun FootGolf Tournaments
scheduled monthly through December. Format is 18 holes of 2-Person Scramble where both players on each hole hit their first
shot, select the best of the two, and then both play from that spot. Cost is $25 per player and includes green fees, riding golf
cart, and prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Worst Dressed, Best Dressed, Long Kick, Hole-in-One, plus prizes for Top Winning
Teams. Additional dates are Nov. 21, and Dec. 19 with 1 p.m. registration and 1:30 p.m. play. 850-882-2949
Transition GPS Workshop
Monday-Friday, October 19-23 (Sr TAP-Retirees only); 26-30 | 8 am-4:30 pm
The 2011 Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) Act requires service members from all branches of the military to attend this
five-day workshop before separating. Briefings include employment, financial, and VA benefits. Preseparation counseling is a
prerequisite. Attire is civilian business casual. Spouses are encouraged to attend but must register in advance. Call the Airman &

This workshop discusses the résumé process and is designed to help customers organize their experience and skills to begin

Krewe of Boo New Orleans Halloween Tour
Saturday and Sunday, October 24-25
Enjoy a great day in the in the Big Easy with fellow ghouls and goblins at New Orleans’ premiere Halloween event – the Krewe of
Boo Halloween Parade in the French Quarter followed by an incredible Monster Mash costume post-parade party from 9 p.m.- 2

Team Eglin AEF Families Night Build-A-Box Event
Tuesday, October 27 | Info Fair & Activities 4 pm, Dinner 5:30 pm
Spouses, families, friends, coworkers and leadership of all deployed members are invited to the Bayview Club to a build-a-box
for our deployed members. Boxes and items will be provided. Personalized items may be added to fit into the 11” x 8.5” x 5.5”
boxes. An info fair and free family photos are also planned for those interested with free dining to follow. Event is limited to first
300 people to sign up with their Unit Commander, Civilian Leaders, First Sergeants, or Key Spouse. Please include the address of
your deployed member. Casual civilian attire is appropriate.
Dog Obedience Classes
Tuesdays, October 27 - December 1 | 4-5 pm
Can't get Rover to roll over? Karen Harper teaches basic dog obedience curriculum at Eglin Outdoor Recreation. Course sessions
last six weeks, with classes held on Tuesday evenings for a maximum of 10 dogs. (The first class meeting should be attended by
owners only - no dogs, please!) Participants must pre-pay $75 for the six-session course. Register and pick up additional class

Zombie Stomp
Friday, October 30 | 4 pm, Showtime 3:30 pm
Eglin's 4th Annual Zombie Stomp is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. show time on Friday, October 30, with the race starting and
hordes giving chase at 4 p.m. This year's event is a FREE 3-Mile Fun Run, starting and finishing at the CE Pavilion on Cypress
Road. Just show up prepared to be hunted by a fleet of "The Running Dead!" Prizes will be awarded to the first surviving runners
to cross the finish line with at least one of their flags still attached. 850-882-6223
Zombie Volunteers Needed: Zombie Stomp

Trunk or Treat Festival
Friday, October 30 | 5-7:30 pm
Get your spook on and bring the whole family out to Eglin's Annual Trunk or Treat Festival at Postl Point. This kid-friendly event
from 5-7:30 p.m. will feature music, games, prizes, a not-too spooky movie, a preschool maze, haunted bouncy castle, and a
hayride stalked by zombies! Trunk or Treat Lane will be open from 5:30-7 p.m. During the event, judges will be out and about
making on-the-spot award presentations to 25 "Best Costume" winners attending the event, and 5 "Favorite Trunk" winners
from Trunk or Treat Lane. The Eglin Outdoor Recreation Center will remain open throughout the event to offer snacks, beverages, glow sticks and necklaces, and other items available for purchase inside the center. The Street Eatz food truck will also be on
site for food and beverage purchases. 850-882-5058
Decorated Vehicles Needed: Trunk or Treat Lane
Friday, October 30 | 5:30-7 pm
Eglin Outdoor Recreation is looking for a long line of vehicles to populate Trunk or Treat Lane this year. If you would like to
volunteer to decorate your vehicle and provide treats to a large group of enthusiastic kids, we would like to hear from you!
Awards will be presented to 5 "Favorite Trunk" winners, and all participating with decorated vehicles will be entered in a
drawing to win a new Polaroid Camera and rolls of film. Everyone has a chance to be a winner! Lane will be open from 5:30-7

Event Volunteers Needed: Trunk or Treat Festival
Friday, October 30 | 5-7:30 pm
Eglin Outdoor Recreation is recruiting volunteers for the Trunk or Treat event to decorate the grounds, assist staff with indoor
sales, direct parking, set up and man the event's games and activity areas, help with the haunted hayride, and assist with tear
down after the event. All volunteers registered with Outdoor Rec will receive free food and beverages prior to the start of the
event. Everyone interested in assisting with any or all of these duties are asked to contact Outdoor Rec to sign up and receive
assignment details and report time for day of the event. Call 850-882-5058.
Family Movie Saturday Halloween Party
Saturday, October 31 | Party 12:30 pm | Movie & Pizza 1:30 pm | Costume Awards | 3 pm
The Integrated Learning Center (ILC) is hosting a free family fun day with games and crafts, movie, free popcorn and prizes.
Everyone, all ages, are invited. Movie showing in October is Hotel Transylvania. The October event will also feature a Halloween
Party with games, crafts, candy and a slightly-haunted house! Pizza, beverages and popcorn will be served. Prizes for best
literary costume and best homemade costume will be awarded. Parents are welcome to watch the movie or use the computers,
wifi, game room, or quiet room during the movie, but must remain in the facility. Hangar 3 is located next to Legends Sports
Grill, Bldg. 825, by the Fitness Center. 850-882-9308
