FOR YOUR DIARY
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
DEC
Year 6 Farewell
Congratulations to our Year 6 students on a very
successful „Farewell Celebration‟ last night. The
ceremony was held in our school hall which was
decorated like a 5 star reception centre. Thank you to
the team of parents who worked on this – you did a
remarkable job! The students looked fantastic,
conducted themselves very well and had a great time
dancing to the music supplied by Mr Jennings. Mr
Callaughan, Mrs Read and Mr Kerr also did an
outstanding job in coordinating and overseeing the
farewell and thank you to all the staff members who also
attended.
What an unbelievable effort it was from Year 6 to raise
all of the money required for the event through clever
fundraising activities throughout the year. Finally, Year 6
is a wonderful group of students who will be greatly
missed as they move on to high school and we would
like to extend our best wishes to all students and their
families for the future.
School Reports and Organisation for 2013
As you are aware, Semester 2 progress reports were
sent home last Tuesday and I would like to congratulate
all students on their excellent reports and progress this
year. The school is in the process of finalising class
organisation for 2013 and many factors have to be
considered in placing students in their respective
classes. Thank you for your letters of request, however,
it must be emphasised that the requests will be
considered but there is no guarantee of preferred
placement.
As stated in the newsletter on 16 November – the
requests for placement should be around „an
extraordinary situation‟ – not merely that a teacher is
preferred or not preferred to teach your son/daughter.
Presentation Day
Last Tuesday both presentation ceremonies (K-2 and 36) went very smoothly and the day was a huge success
in general. Congratulations to all prize winners and to
our new student leadership team (captains, prefects and
house captains) on gaining these positions.

Greek Language - Certificate of Attainment
Last Monday night 10 students from Sans Souci Public School
(Greek A - Mrs Koureas‟ class) were awarded the Certificate of
Attainment in Greek. This is a wonderful achievement as SSPS
had one of the largest group of students presented with the
award. All students have to demonstrate proficiency in written
and spoken Greek to be eligible for the award. Congratulations ;
Mia, Sarah, Anna, Maria, Kate, Illia, Alexander, Zisis, James,
Alexi and well done, Mrs Koureas.
Final Newsletter for 2012
As this is the final newsletter for 2012 I would like to wish
everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday
period. Thank you for your support in 2102 – It has been a hugely
successful year and the staff and I look forward to continuing our
partnership with you next year.

SRC Christmas Appeal for the Salvation Army
Yesterday, Major Trevor Nichol from the Salvation Army
gratefully accepted donations of children‟s toys and gifts
for Christmas from Sans Souci Public School. He
needed to bring a 20 seater mini-van to transport the 40
+ boxes of gifts back to the Salvation Army Depot where
a team of volunteers will sort and wrap them ready for
Christmas distribution.
Mr Nichol said “it was an outstanding, overwhelming
response” and thanked us profusely for the „caring,
sharing spirit‟ which is alive and well in the Sans Souci
Community. Thank you to all of those families and
teachers who donated gifts and thank you to the SRC for
your great work!
Thank you so much to the wonderful parents
who organised and helped with the Year 6
Farewell.
