Business Strategy Game - Colorado Technical University
Business Strategy Game
Colorado Technical University is proud to announce
that we have partnered with McGraw-Hill to provide
our Business School Bachelor’s degree seniors and
MBA students a hands-on learning experience called the
Business Strategy Game. This game will give students
the opportunity to put into practice all the business
skills learned and attained in one single strategy game.
In this game, you will get some practical experience
and increase your critical thinking and judgment skills
as you learn how to run your own business and how
to compete in the global marketplace. This includes
utilizing the skills you have learned as a student at
CTU including:
• Business risk analysis
• Profit analysis
• Market positioning and how to improve market share
• Strategic business thinking and decision making
• Analyzing competitive position versus competitors in
the industry
• Reviewing strategies and goals to meet the everchanging market conditions
• Plant operations and distribution
• Employee compensation
• Sales and marketing
• Brand recognition
• General finance and accounting issues
As students, you will benefit greatly in that this exercise
will advance your preparation for a position in business
and management at graduation. Students will compete
against other teams of fellow students who are tasked
with running the same company their team is. The
strategies and methods of the other teams may or may not
compare favorably to the strategies your team employs.
Your task is to build a strategy that maintains and grows
your market share and profitability and have some fun
competing against fellow students, and perhaps, a covert
team of your own instructors from time to time.
Beginning in 2011, CTU will provide students
the opportunity to participate in many and varied
tournaments, including the BSG, for awards which will
be determined at a later date. Any tournaments offered
will not result in credits being earned toward graduation
and will not be given a letter grade towards your GPA.
As always, CTU is continuing to work with students to
provide a remarkable learning experience. Our hope
is that you will take advantage of the many learning
experiences we offer you and strive to become the best
you can be with the skills and learning you have attained
at CTU.

Strategy Game should contact Mike McAndrew at
