Torii Tours was established in 1979 and has bee closely associated with aviation tours since that time. The Torii gate is a
structure erected at the entrance of a Japanese temple signifying the flight from the temporal to the spiritual, and it appealed to us as a symbol of our aviation tour programs.
This years USA Canada program is designed with a balance of Aviation touring while embracing the excitement of the spectacular destinations we visit.
Travelling by air, deluxe motor coaches, Torii offer a remarkable standard of
service.
However the real advantage of a Torii is our clientele, an inclusive group of
aviation enthusiasts, who welcome newcomers and enjoy the company of
the “usual suspects”, at least 50% of Torii passengers have travelled with us
on previous tours. Your tour escorts job is to exceed your expectations and
judging by the ratings they receive in post tour surveys they succeed.

Who are we?
Jill Cook is the CEO of Torii and controls the
operation. Jill started her career at the Bank of
NSW Travel department in the late sixties and
has been responsible for thirty years of aviation touring. She has operated programs from
Moscow to Wanaka and has a vast knowledge
of the world’s aviation events. She is well regarded by all stake holders in Aviation Touring.
Ron Cook is responsible to the CEO for Torii’s
marketing. He has been associated with aviation and tourism since this photograph was
taken on his appointment as the Australian
representative of Northwest Orient Airlines in
1969. He also accompanies some tours as an
escort.

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is recognized as having the most extensive aviation collection in Canada and one which ranks among the best in
the world. The Museum collects artifacts that illustrate the development of the
flying machine in both peace time and war, from the pioneer period to the present time. Although the Museum highlights Canadian achievements in science
and technology in the aviation industry, it is not exclusive; aircraft and other artifacts
from many nations are also represented in the collection. In 1964, three governmentowned aeronautical collections were amalgamated and moved to new headquarters at
Ottawas historic Rockcliffe Airport, and then into the current Museum building, which
opened in 1988. The Canada Aviation and Space Museum, a component of the Canada
Science and Technology Museums Corporation since 1967, has continued to grow by
acquiring both civil and military aircraft important to Canadian and world aviation history. The collection now comprises more than 130 aircraft and countless other artifacts
such as engines, propellers, and important works of aviation art, as well as library and
archival resources.
