RECOMMANDATIONS
A . The water we drink and how we treat it?
1. Support for the development of legal instruments and other means to ensure
the effective implementation of policies according to Directive 91/271/EC
"Urban waste water treatment”
2. To provide better transparency of the practice of construction, operation,
control of the waste water treatment plants
3. To insist for stronger control and penalties when treatment and protection of
water resources
B . The food we eat and how we cultivate it?
4. To address more efforts on education and initiatives to teach children healthy
eating and living from an early age
5. To have more reserved policy towards the use of GMOs and focus on
scientific studies on the long-term effects of the use of GMOs on the public
health, soil and biodiversity
C. The air we breathe and how we save it?
6. More attention on the application, observation and control of the “polluter
pays” principle
7. More information to the public on the health and environmental
consequences of air pollution
D. The overall citizen participation
8. Acceleration of the fruitful cooperation between local authorities, the public
and NGOs sector in decision-making concerning the environment. Improve
coordination between supervisory authorities and maximum utilization of
NGOs and citizens to participate in and support control activities
9. Organization of sustainable promotion of best practices related to the
participation of citizens in decision-making related to health and environment
issues so that these practices can become "visible" to the public
