Welcome To The OASFAA Spring
Welcome To The OASFAA Spring
Conference
Welcome from the President
It is so exciting to see the year culminate with a successful spring conference that offers the opportunity to
“Connect, Communicate and Collaborate” with others in our profession. The Executive Committee of
OASFAA is constantly striving to evaluate and meet the needs of our membership. In recent years we have
focused on the financial challenges we all face at our respective institutions and our hope is that by moving to
a two day conference that is jam packed with strong sessions and training options, we have provided access
for more to attend.
We are thrilled to have both Jeff Baker and Jamie Malone from the Department of Education join us to
provide guidance on the new Program Integrity rules and other federal regulations. In addition, the diversity
of the other interest sessions provides a wide range of topics from which to choose.
I hope you will join us Monday evening for the manager’s reception prior to dinner then stay the evening for
after dinner entertainment provided by ” Midwest Dueling Pianos”. I was fortunate to experience them at the
MASFAA conference and it was a great time!
Tuesday at lunch we will be recognizing the efforts of all who have dedicated themselves to the association this
past year and those carrying us into the new year. It will be our pleasure to announce the recipients of the
James White and Support Professional Awards at that time. Also, The Ohio Board of Regents will be on hand
to provide a state update.
Please do not forget to participate in the “Backpack for Kids” charity event. All donated school supplies will
benefit students at high need schools in the Columbus Public School District.
Finally, I would like to commend the efforts of the Conference Planning Committee in providing an
outstanding conference. It took hundreds of volunteer hours to plan this event to ensure that all in
attendance will benefit.
I look forward to connecting with you as we gather to network and learn from each other!

The James W. White Award honors Jim White, Director
of Financial Aid at Oberlin College when he retired in
1990. The award, first presented at the 1991 spring
