will be celebrated in 2018. The theme will be based on the history of the Hastings area and we are thinking of naming it
“thenandnow”.Somethoughtsincludeusinghistoricphotosforreferencetoproduceamoderninterpretationofthescene
which need not be limited to buildings and such but include a wide range of subject matter. Of course we will need to

After a very enthusiastically received visit last month from the Director of the Manning Regional Gallery, Noella Lopez, I

LIBRARY NEWS
Watercolourist and oil painters alike will certainly enjoy the
twonewDVD’sinourlibrary.
“Depth and Detail in Watercolour” by Elizabeth Tyler. Four
completely
different
paintings
are
expertly
demonstrated. One painting in particular is of a blackberry
bush – such details and wonderful use of colour. Elizabeth
usesmaskingfluidandclearplastictocovertheimagestobe
protected whilst she soaks the background with multiple
colours and moves the paint around the paper. The end
resultsarejustfantastic.
