Welcome to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish - www.blteresaparish.org
Vocations to the priesthood just don't happen. It takes hard
work, prayer, dedication & financial support. We are
blessed in our parish to have one of our own, JUSTIN
LOPINA, at the seminary right now in his formation towards
ordination as a transitional deacon next April and
ordination to priesthood in May 2014.
A wonderful event, the annual Seminary Dinner
Fundraiser will be held on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5th at the
Hyatt Regency Hotel in Milwaukee. This is a great way for
laypersons to support vocations as well as "one of our own."
Currently, it costs approximately $40,000 per year to
cover all costs per seminarian. Prayers AND dollars are
required for vocations. We certainly wouldn't want to loose
a potential seminarian because we were not able to
support him financially.
Your help, prayers and financial support is needed.
Reservations for this important fundraiser are only $150/
person. We would really like to host an entire table of 10
people from Blessed Teresa at this event at the Hyatt. To
reserve a place for yourself or to sponsor a potential
candidate for the seminary please call parishioner, Paul
Pendowski (262/727-7046) or email him at
[email protected] in the next week.
WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS
Your Church Decorating Committee is in need of
freshly picked Pumpkins, Gourds, Corn Stalks and
Wheat Stalks to beautify our Churches for the Fall
Harvest Season. Harvest items can be dropped off at the
Parish Center Monday thru Thursday or there will be a basket
in the North Lake Church main vestibule on Sundays. Please
drop off donations by Thursday, October 11th.
Thank you in advance for your generous contributions.
God’s Blessings! Your Liturgical Environment Committee

Prayer for Christian Education
God, who created all things
and sustains them in being,
you established the world in all its wonder
and gave humankind the intellect to uncover the
mysteries that abound in your wondrous work.
Give catechists and teachers the wisdom
to open the minds of their students to the beauty
that lies in knowing what you have made.
Give students the insight to understand that,
as they uncover more of the world
and learn more of history and human progress,
they may find you at the heart of all that is
and see the tracings of your actions each day.
Fill all learners with the knowledge of your truth,
and guide them on the eternal path to you.
Amen.

Christian Formation
What is the Year of Faith?
In this special year, believers around the world are called to renew their
commitment to the faith that is “always the same, yet the source of every new
light.” Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed a Year of Faith beginning October
11, 2012, and concluding on November 24, 2013, the feast of Christ the King.
The start of this Year of Faith coincides with the anniversaries of two great
events that have marked the life of the Church: the 50th anniversary of the
opening of the Second Vatican Council and the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
During, the Year of Faith, our parish plans to offer opportunities for all of us to
reflect on and deepen our knowledge and understanding of the teachings of the
Church.
Upcoming Year of Faith Events
Adult Bible Study
Are you interested in Bible Study?
Would you be willing to host a Bible Study?
Are you willing to facilitate Bible Study?
Fr. Barron explores the ancient practices of the
Church’s worship that endure to this very day, and
the notion that “all value is summed up in the liturgy,
the supreme act by which we commune with God.”
Considered by the Catholic Faith to be “the source
and summit” of its identity and mission, the
Eucharist is the central practice of the Church’s
culture. Fr. Barron shows how the Sacred Liturgy
embodies the whole of the Faith.
Last spring, we viewed three videos of this
breathtaking series and many parishioners asked
that we continue. Watch next week’s bulletin for the
upcoming dates and times that Catholicism will be
presented in Clare Hall of the Parish Center.
Please call the Christian Formation Office at 262-966-7010 if
you can assist as we begin a new Bible Study on the Gospel of
Luke.
High School & College-Age
Bible Study
You are invited to join a Bible Study that will meet at the
Parish Center to read Scripture and discuss how it is
relevant in your life! The six-week study will begin midOctober (date to be announced) and will meet either before
or after the Packer games for food, fun, friendship and
FAITH.
Watch the bulletin for more information.
fridays with Father
All are welcome to gather with Father for refreshments and reflection on the
Sunday Readings. Father Bill will lead this informal weekly Bible study and
discussion beginning in November, at 9 a.m. in the Parish Center.
See next week’s bulletin for the starting date.
