Sabrina Edwards has been helping faithfully in this ministry to the homeless by delivering food, blankets, sleeping bags and other necessities whenever needed. It’s an honor to be able to serve to bless those around us. Fathers, bring your sons to help us. We’d like to see all ages of men, young and old working together on this Saturday morning. It’s three hours of service. Make plans to be there! I’m looking forward to serving together. group called LeaderTreks. This Chicago based company works with churches to plan mission trips and wilderness trips that are focused on developing Christian leaders. I spent some time with them as a student in high school and I am very excited to partner with them on the other side of youth ministry as well. I will be asking students to commit to this in February as LT does expect a serious level of involvement from their participants. I hope you are excited as we plan to navigate parts of the Buffalo National River and grow in Christ together. A Word From Wes: Park Avenue Family Ministry Good morning, Church. First, thanks to all those who have expressed concern and said prayers for our Avery. She is preparing for a minor procedure tomorrow, and we expect will be back at full speed very soon. It is so good to be surrounded by a body of believers who love and care for my family. Thank you. Did you know we had 300 people in Bible Class last Sunday morning? I think that’s fantastic. The study, conversation, and growth that is taking place in these classes, in our Wednesday Night classes, and in our small groups is such a remarkable testament to the commitment we’ve made toward our own spiritual growth in 2016. Speaking of small groups: last Sunday Night a handful of us met and kicked off The Reason For God study. I am entirely impressed with this series of conversations Keller has with a group of skeptics, unbelievers, and seekers. If you would like to improve your ability to converse on difficult topics, if you'd like a safe place to voice your uncertainties or skepticisms, or if you'd like to have your faith reinforced by applied science and reason - I want to encourage you to join us tonight, from 6:00-7:30 in the Atrium. Please contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to worshiping with you this morning! This morning I will continue a series on each one of the seven pledges you were asked to take on Covenant Sunday. Today we will talk about Being Faithful Stewards of Our Resources. This morning we will have a second contribution as is our custom on fifth Sundays. The second contribution will be directly applied to the mortgage on the Family Life Center (a.k.a. Ark). This morning we will hear an update on how this contribution is accelerating the payoff of the loan as well as saving us significant dollars in interest. Your generosity continues to reap many rewards. The elders have begun to pray through the entire membership in 2016. They and the minsters typically meet two Wednesday evenings a month after class and will include a time of specific prayer for every member by name though the year. Know that you are in their hearts and minds and are there for you. I want to continue to encourage you to move in and move up to make room for everyone. We don’t want anyone to feel unwelcomed as they make their way into the worship center. FYI, the church leadership is looking into additional parking to accommodate the growing numbers we are experiencing. Our hope and prayer is that our time together this morning will bring you closer both to one another and closer to our loving God. Take a moment to welcome someone— especially someone you may not know well. Online Sermon Studio Updated We have recently updated and improved our online sermon site to make it easier to catch up on missed sermons or to have another listen. You can link to our sermon studio through our website (www.parkaveneuchruch.com), our church app, or go directly to the sermon studio at pacoc.sermon.net. As well as being able to listen to the most recent sermons you can also find sermons arranged by series from the last several years. If you have any trouble navigating the site, feel free to contact the church office. We are honored to have you with us this morning. A warm welcome to all our members — how good and pleasant it is for us to worship together! And a special welcome to our guests! Please take a few minutes to visit with us after services. Stop by the welcome centers in the main hallways for more information and a free gift from us. Let us know how we can serve you.
