EASTER EGG HUNT APRIL 19
Invite your family and friends to join us for
our Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 19,
at 10 a.m. Our resident bunnies will be
preparing all through the month to make it
extra fun.
During our popcorn event on April 8 and 15,
the plastic eggs will be available for stuffing.
We’ve got buckets of eggs to fill so please come
down and have a great a time with your
neighbors. Friday, April 18, we are coloring eggs
the old-fashioned way.
Shirley and Vicki will be on hand to hide eggs
the morning of the hunt, but we could use some
volunteers to help us.
OPEN HOUSE - APRIL 26, 1-3 P.M.
Everyone is welcome at our Open House
Event. Author Richard LeMieux, Breakfast at
Sally’s, will be our guest speaker. His
inspirational book is based on his experiences
as a homeless individual in Bremerton.
There is also a wine-tasting event sponsored
by Olympic Cellars in Port Angeles. A $5
donation is requested at the door to benefit the
Bremerton Food Shelter.

LOCAL TELEVISION
The word continues to spread that Bay Pointe is
brewing some serious beer! Last month Evening
Magazine came over from Seattle to videotape the
creation of our Honey Ale.
Samples will be ready to taste during Happy Hour in
April. Watch the bulletin boards for an announcement
when we receive an air date. Thank you to all the
residents who came down to help.

Celebrate the Season
The first day of spring may be
in March, but April is when it
really starts to feel like winter is
over. Take advantage of the
warmer weather and the longer
days by taking a walk, going for
a ride, or just sitting near a
window in a ray of sunshine.
Pete loves to hike, camp, and
was an avid biker, commuting
from Lake Forest Park to the
University of Washington
Hospital on the Burke Gilman
Trail.
The family settled in Port
Orchard after he retired from the
Cardiothoracic ICU.
Pete on his wedding day
Pete Patterson grew up in
Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.
He got his first degree in history
in Kansas. Shortly after, he was
drafted into the marines where
he spent three years in the
Vietnam conflict.
He married his lifelong
sweetheart, Midge, eight months
before he finished his service.
She was studying nursing at the
time back in Texas. Their
courtship was done almost
exclusively via US Mail. Her
father was the minister at their
wedding.
Midge is one of three
identical triplets. They have
three children and six
grandchildren—two who are
identical twins.
Pete decided to go back to
school to become a nurse as well
and graduated from the
University of Colorado. They
eventually moved to
Washington to finish raising
their family.
The painter is working on
entrance doors in the building.
Please be mindful of drop cloths
around the openings. Thank you
for your patience.
New artwork has arrived and
will be installed this month in
the main common areas.

Jewelry Classes at
Bay Pointe
Twice a month on Tuesday at
1 p.m. Bay Pointe residents have
a unique opportunity to create
beautiful jewelry. Beth is an
experienced instructor who
owns her own bead store in
downtown Bremerton.
She brings all the supplies
needed to create the day’s
project. No experience is
needed. Perhaps you have a
piece in your collection that
needs some tender loving care?
Bring it down and she can help
you restore it.
Maybe there is a birthday
coming up and you would like
to make a necklace for a special
someone? We supply the

Wintertime can dry our skin
and we all need a little help
rehydrating at the end of the
season.

Give Your Brain
a Workout
Think of your memory as a
muscle. The more you exercise
your brain, the better you’ll be
able to process and remember
information. Activities that
require using your hands such as
playing a musical instrument,
making pottery or enjoying a
game of ping pong, exercise the
brain by challenging hand-eye
coordination and creativity.
Enjoy a game of poker or
Rummikub in the activity room
for your daily exercise!
Pet Therapy Comes to
Marine Courte
Last month Marine Courte
had two very furry visitors—AJ
and Ranger. Therapy Dog
International is coming every
week with new friends. We are
happy to welcome them into
our community.
Jessica Turner is on the
nursing staff at Marine Courte.
She is a local girl, growing up in
Bremerton.
Besides her husband, Jordan,
Jessica’s passion is for horses.
This love affair began with a
horse named Bandit when she
was just six. By the time she was
15, she was competing and
winning on another horse
named Sadie, her companion
for more than a decade.
In 2011, they purchased
property big enough for her
horses. Every summer she travels
with three girls, four horses, and
a trailer every weekend
competing and winning on the
NPRA circuit.
Jessica loves being part of “a
staff where everyone cares
110%!”
