The Ashton Pipe brand was created in 1983 by pipe maker Bill Ashton-Tylor and the
renowned pipe aficionado R D Field. The following year Robert Levin, following discussion
with R D Field, named his new cigars Ashton based on the excellent reputation built by
Ashton pipes. Having created some of the finest pipes and cigars in the world the next
step for Ashton was to produce the highest possible quality of pipe tobacco.
