The Avengers
S.H.I.E.L.D. has located the mysterious Tesseract device and the Army's super soldier Captain
America. The Tesseract is actually a gateway to an entirely new world called Asguard. A mysterious
being known as Loki arrives on earth and immediately assumes that he can rule all human beings.
But that irks S.H.I.E.L.D. directory Nick Fury the wrong way. As Loki escapes with the Tesseract,
Nick Fury believes this is an act of war against Earth. His only hope is to assemble an actual team of
super heroes. Dr. Bruce Banner, who turns into an enormous green rage monster known as the
Hulk. Tony Stark and his venerable Iron Man armor. Captain America, the Stark Enterprises created
super soldier. Thor, the god of thunder, protector of Earth and his home planet of Asguard, and
Loki's brother. Master assassins Hawkeye and Natasha Romanoff. Together they will become a team
to take on an attack that will call them to become the greatest of all time.

The introduction is the beginning of the story. It starts the plot moving by grabbing the reader’s
attention. An introduction can name the main character, describe a setting and perhaps even the
conflict. Example:
Set in Monstropolis, a thriving company town where monsters of all shapes and sizes reside, the film follows
the hilarious misadventures of James P. Sullivan (known to all as "Sulley") and his best friend, roommate, and
co-worker, Mike Wazowski. Both work at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream processing factory in the
monster world, where Sulley is the top kid Scarer and Mike is his enthusiastic Scare Assistant. The main
power source in the monster world is the collected screams of human children.

Complications develop as characters do things to try to solve the conflict.
The conflict is the major struggle between characters or between opposing forces.

A conflict may be external or internal. Some stories have both kinds of conflict.
External conflict: The main character struggles with another person or with an outside force, like
the desert.
Internal Conflict: The main character struggles with opposing ideas or feelings within his or her own
mind, like wanting to make friends at a new school but also being very shy.

Climax is the exciting point in the story where the main character or characters face and make a
huge decision. For readers, the climax is usually the most suspenseful part of the story. It’s the
point where the conflict will finally be settled. The climax occurs toward the end of the story.
In the Movie The Avengers:
This is especially true of the climax of the film, which finds The Avengers battling Loki's invasion force
through the streets of Manhattan. The strength of the climax lies in the way in which the members of
the team find themselves split up engaging in separate endeavors, then occasionally working together
in different configurations, all in order to save the world. The Avengers is a film about a group of
superheroes who fight aliens, but it's also a film about the way in which a group of broken, damaged
individuals can come together to form something greater than themselves. Even though the final act is,
superficially, typical blockbuster spectacle, it also works beautifully as a way of bringing the characters
together and to solidify everything that they have experienced over the course of the film, and there is
something quite moving about watching them struggle together for a common goal. By Edwin Davies

The resolution occurs at the end of the story. Often, it includes how the main characters feels
about experiences faced in the story.
Example: In the aftermath, Thor returns Loki and the Tesseract to Asgard. Fury expresses confidence that the
Avengers will return if and when they are needed.
