Melody A. Petrossian is an attorney in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group in Los Angeles. Ms. Petrossian
concentrates her practice on real estate acquisitions, leasing, sales and development. She has drafted
purchase and sale agreements for single tenant parcels, unimproved land, office buildings, and industrial
parks.
Ms. Petrossian has extensive experience representing both landlords and tenants in lease negotiations,
including those related to retail, commercial, industrial and mixed­use projects throughout California and
various other states. Clients rely on Ms. Petrossian to negotiate various agreements associated with lease
transactions and management of properties, including letters of intent, estoppels, subordination and non­
disturbance agreements, broker listing agreements, tenant improvement contracts, build­to­suit leases,
standard leases, renewals, sublease and assignment transactions, lease takeovers, ground leases and
property management agreements.
In Ms. Petrossian’s representation of owners and developers, she has negotiated lease workouts and advised
clients on effective terminations. She has also published several articles providing recommendations to
landlords regarding terminations and overall guidance related to current California law.

Ms. Petrossian also handles commercial real estate disputes in conjunction with the litigation department.
Her real estate litigation practice includes resolution of transactional and project issues involving complex
property disputes. This added experience enables Ms. Petrossian to provide her clients with effective
strategies for the quick resolution of disputes and property management issues.
Ms. Petrossian earned her J.D. at Loyola Law School in 2003, where she was a member of the Loyola of Los
Angeles Law Review. Ms. Petrossian also pursued coursework at Cardozo Law School in New York and served
as a judicial extern for the Honorable Dickran Tevrizian of the United States District Court, Central District of
California. She earned her B.A. in English and Political Science at the University of California at Irvine in 2000.
