Recently we announced the merger of Place Insurance and the George
B. Bailey Agency, two long-standing local businesses in Cortland and
Tompkins counties. This partnership combines the strengths of both
agencies to build a leading independent insurance organization that is
prepared to meet the growing needs of our customers and the challenges
of our industry.
We’d like to introduce you to Bailey Place Insurance. The name of the new
organization serves as a tribute to the Bailey and Place families, and to
the employees that have provided the highest quality insurance protection, customer service, and advice to generation after generation of local
families and businesses. Once the merger is complete early in the second
quarter, you will see our new logo used in all correspondence, advertising
and signage.
The Place Insurance office on Main Street in Cortland is being expanded
and renovated to accommodate the Bailey Agency’s staff. We expect all of
our Cortland staff to be under one roof in April. The Bailey office in Dryden
will remain as it is today, operating under the new Bailey Place name.
We are incredibly excited about this partnership because:
• All agency staff will remain part of the new agency
• Customer relationships will remain unchanged
• Customers will have access to more insurance companies
• Our staff will benefit from more career opportunities
and professional development
• Both agencies will see improvements in technology and support
• We will remain independently owned and operated
We have not undertaken this new partnership lightly, nor without regard
for the excellent reputation each company has earned in service to its
clients over the years. But now we are convinced that we can do even better,
together, and that the quality of service we will provide in the days,
months, and years ahead will be second to none in Central New York.
