Walks and views
Whether you want to just
get away from it all and
enjoy the countryside or
take part in something
more active, there is sure
to be something that
you will enjoy at Rutland
Water Park
The site has a circular
trail of nearly 25 miles and a wonderful dedicated nature reserve
which is wonderful for walking and getting closer to nature. You
are welcome to picnic around the site in the main grassed areas;
we recommend Normanton, Sykes Lane, Whitwell and Barnsdale
for summer picnics, games of football, cricket and general
relaxing. Rutland is a wonderful location for winter walking and a
great place to stretch the legs in the evenings.
Weddings
If you’re looking for somewhere special to hold your civil
ceremony, then why not take a look at Normanton Church, set
on shores of Rutland Water?
Normanton Church is a unique medieval church which was
deconsecrated in 1970 when work on Rutland Water began.
The Church is blessed with stunning views over Rutland Water
& the surrounding area. Steeped in history, it retains a timeless
architectural elegance and is a perfect location for your special
day. The Church lends itself to intimate civil ceremonies and
there are a couple of different options for celebrations which we
would be delighted to discuss with you. 01780 686800
