from the Chair of the Board - Clintonville Chamber of Commerce
from the Chair of the Board
As your Chair of the Board
for 2004 I am looking forward to the coming year
with great anticipation. As
the Chamber continues to
grow as the organization
representing
the
Clintonville area business
community, the Board and
I will continue to count on
the involvement of our members to fulfill our
mission. With our reorganization in place, which
includes four new Vice Chairs for specific program areas, I would like to share my goals and
visions for the Chamber in 2004 with all of you.
1) To enhance our political voice on issues that
effect your business and our community.
2) To expand our efforts to market Clintonville
events to central Ohio to bring new faces and new
customers into our business districts.
3) To make our Annual Recognition Dinner the
gala event of the spring in Clintonville and to
have this event bring the business and residential
community together.
4) To increase the Chamber membership to 600
members.
5) To review all of the Chamber's events and programs to insure they are meeting the needs of our
members and have the necessary financial support
to make them successful.
Becoming involved in the Chamber and its activities is good for your business and good for our
community. The value of your Chamber membership is enhanced when you attend a luncheon
or Chamber University program, host a Business
After Hours, or serve on a committee. I am looking forward to continuing the good work and traditions of past Chamber leadership. The Board
and our staff are looking forward to working with
all of you in 2004.

Annual Recognition Dinner/Silent Auction
Expanded Awards to Honor Volunteers
The Chamber's Annual Recognition Dinner will
have an expanded format in 2004 and will be
the gala event of the spring in Clintonville.
Dinner Chair Shari Carroll of Right Move Realty
and her committee have added two new awards
to compliment the traditional "Business Person of
the Year" presentation. This year The Booster will
join with the Chamber by honoring the "SNP
Community Volunteer of the Year" and the
Chamber will also present the first "Business
Service Award" to a Clintonville business for their
community involvement. The dinner will be
held at the University Plaza Hotel, 3110
Olentangy River Rd.
"We are excited to have The Booster join us as a
co-sponsor of this event," Said Carroll. "The
addition of the Community Volunteer award and
the Business Service award certainly fit with our
program of honoring Clintonville
businesses and residents who make
this such a great community."
Award nomination forms will
appear in The Booster over the next
several weeks. Nominations for all
three awards should be returned to
the Chamber by January 23rd.
A new feature for the dinner this
year will be a silent auction featuring
products and services provided by Clintonville
area business. Businesses wishing to provide
items for the silent auction should contact
Carroll, or the Chamber office at 262-2790. The
evening will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m.
followed by the dinner and awards presentation.
Tickets are $45 per person.

CHAMBER U
COURSE: TIME
MANAGEMENT
AND PRODUCTIVITY
The problem isn't that
there is not enough time,
it's just that you have too
much to do today. The
solution is not working
faster or harder.
The
Solution is not buying the
latest electronic organizer.
The Solution is in changing
your approach and relationship to all that there is for us
to do.
Time management and personal productivity will be
the topic for the fourth
Chamber University (see
insert) on January 28th.
Charles Smyser, Senior
Partner of Sparkways LLC
and national and international consultant, speaker
and trainer will be the program presenter.
The
Chamber University is a
series of joint educational
programs sponsored by the
Clintonville,
Hilliard,
Grandview and Upper
Arlington Chambers.
