The arrival of our fall annual supply catalogue will likely
coincide with this year’s Poppy Campaign. There is no
other campaign like our Poppy Campaign run by thousands
of Legion volunteers who make it all happen. Millions of
dollars are raised each year to support Veterans and their
families thanks to the donations of countless millions of
Canadians. As we know Poppy Funds are kept in the public
trust to support these Veterans and their families rather than
using them on our own Legion operations. Today’s needs
are great and Legion members generously volunteer their
time and energy each and every year. When Canadians
wear a Poppy they are visibly demonstrating their respect
for those who serve while honouring those who have
served as well as the fallen. Our freedom is a result of their
commitment.
Over the past year the Legion has generously supported
Veterans and their families at the community, provincial
and national level and the need for Veteran’s transition,
homeless, and mental health programs is great. You should
be very proud of the Service Officer Network you have
established at the branch, provincial and national level. We
do this because We Care and because We Can.

LEST WE FORGET WATCHES
Shopping for a watch is not an easy task. There are literally thousands of
designs out there. Rather than trying to pick from the field available, we
created a design, made a list of features, and gave it to several manufacturers
to make for us. One of them came through for us. Here’s what we came up
with:

POPPY JEWELLERY
With many of our products, the Supply Department’s product development team
is challenged with taking an existing item and making modifications to suit your
needs. This line of jewellery is different. We found a Canadian manufacturer
who was willing to work with our in-house artist Karen Taylor to produce these
expressive pieces of wearable art. They are designed and made in Canada utilizing
the finest craftsmanship, cast with Canadian Pewter and silver plated.

POPPY CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT
Our design team, headed by our on-staff artist Karen Taylor, started with the
concept that we were producing a piece of jewellery that
carries the theme of Remembrance and is beautiful
in its own right. The end result is a Poppy Brooch
that we are proud to present to you. Black
stones set in the center, cradled by petals
of deep red enamel over silver plated fine
pewter, are attached to your garment by a
traditional jewellery brooch pin. Sized at 1 ¼",
it is large enough to show your commitment
on Remembrance Day but small enough to be a
tasteful wardrobe accent at other times.

POPPY EARRINGS
The concept of a Poppy Earring is not a new one. This design, however, is. It truly
bridges the gap between jewellery for the Poppy period and Remembrance Day,
and a beautiful artistic expression of a remarkable flower. A black stone centres
petals of red enamel over silver plated fine pewter. They come in two styles: one
with a backing of a non-allergenic steel post and secure retainer, and one with a
drop-earring loop for pierced ears, secured by a retainer.

found a Canadian manufacturer for these items. Ideal has
been making quality knitwear for over 40 years. They
produce this custom design pattern featuring the Poppy
and the Maple Leaf, two images that are close to the hearts

POPPY HEADBAND
A knitted headband is a popular alternative to a toque. It
is especially useful by those engaged in vigorous outdoor
winter activities. It keeps your ears warm while allowing
the heat to escape from the top of your head. The Poppy
headband is 4” wide for good coverage of the ears and
forehead, and comes in two sizes- adult and youth (6-12).

fabric to remind us to keep the Veterans who died and the

Something we Canadians learn from
childhood is that a pair of mitts is pretty
essential to survive the winter. These
Mitts, with the Poppy and Maple Leaf

POPPY UMBRELLA (STANDARD)
The most obvious advantage of a standard umbrella over a compact is
the size of the canopy. The Legion Poppy Umbrella has a 40” canopy
that opens out to reveal the Legion Trademark Poppy covering nearly
the entire top. The other, less obvious advantage is the handle. The
traditional hook handle is 35” long, allowing for better control of the
canopy in windy conditions, and also serving as a cane when the
umbrella is closed. The Legion Poppy Umbrella comes with a storage
sleeve emblazoned with the Legion Logo.

Thanks goes out to artist Karen Taylor for designing this
beautiful bag. Her original artwork transforms a day-to-day
item into a fashion accessory. Technically it’s a tote bag, but it
is nice enough to be carried as a purse. The size is perfect- 15’
long by 10’ high. The white insets with the Poppy print are
actually pockets. The bag and handles are made from heavy
canvas and features a gusset bottom for extra capacity. It is
fully lined and the top has a zippered closure. You’re going to
love this bag.
POPPY UMBRELLA (COMPACT)
The Legion Compact Poppy Umbrella is adorned with the Trademark
Poppy covering nearly the entire top. The 37” canopy folds down to
a convenient 10” long cylinder that fits in a purse or coat pocket. All
folding umbrellas are not created equal, though. This one is one of the
better designs (a marvel of engineering, when you really look at it) that
folds up easily but is sturdy when opened. It comes complete with a
storage sleeve, decorated with the Legion Logo.

LEGION RIDERS PROGRAM
SILK POPPY SCARF
Two seemingly opposite characteristics, delicate and strong,
are combined in a traditional natural textile silk. That makes it
an excellent choice for making a scarf. The Legion’s Silk Poppy
Scarf goes even further with the added feature of its large
size, 26” x 68”, or 173 x 66 centimeters. That means it’s wide
enough to cover your head and wrap around your neck. The
original art for the Poppy print was designed by the Legion’s
talented graphic artist, Karen Taylor. The chic design gives a
21st Century touch to the traditional Poppy image.

The Royal Canadian Legion was founded on a grass-roots
movement among Veterans, and to this day finds its
strength in its “from the ground up” philosophy. Hence it
is no surprise that the Legion Riders Program started in the
same way. A small group of motorcycle enthusiasts among
the membership of the Legion decided to turn their passion into a vehicle to carry the Legion name and promote
the traditional values of the Legion. Now their numbers are
growing, with the sanction of Dominion Command. New
groups are forming across the country to help generate
more awareness about the Legion and its services to our
serving and retired Veterans and RCMP personnel and their
families as well as engaging in community service. You too
are welcome to show your support even if you don’t ride a
motorcycle. Keep the spirit alive. Join us.
MeN'S AND LADIES' LEATHER VESTS
In support of the Legion Riders program the Supply Department has sourced
Leather vests from a Canadian Manufacturer. With 65 years of experience,
Saxon Leather is the leader in leather apparel in North America. Saxon uses
only the finest drum-dyed top-grain (no splits) cowhide leather and fabric in
the manufacture of these custom vests. These vests are truly a Made-inCanada product. The Legion Riders’ own trademarked emblem is permanently
embossed into the back of the vest. Anyone can buy and wear one of these vests
to show their support for Legion Riders even if they don’t own a motorcycle.
The Ladies’ vest is fully lined with 100% nylon for durability and comfort. All of
the seams are double stitched for durability. Tapered body contour and gusset

contributed to their enduring popularity for over 100 years. Both jackets are machine washable and dryable, no special care required. They

The men’s jacket is a classic, no-nonsense straight cut, with many of
the same traditional features- metal buttons and keyhole buttonholes
(no zipper) top flap pockets and slash pockets on the front, and real,
blue jean denim colour. The men’s jacket, however is enhanced with
a comfortable, light fleece lining with an inside pocket, and durable
corduroy collar and cuff liner.
The ladies’ denim jacket is a traditional fitted cut with buttoned flap
top pockets and slash side pockets that are hidden in the side seams,
traditional collar and cuffs, and has metal buttons with keyhole
buttonholes rather than a zipper. The fabric is as blue denim as you
can get, with a little stretch for comfort. This is a jacket that you’ll
put on in the morning and won’t want to change out of, even for an
outing in the evening.

We are confident that these fully lined spring jackets will be really
appreciated by our members at the very economical retail price
of $34.95. The shell of these jackets is made of a heavy textured
nylon while the lining is lighter for comfort. Our Legion Badge is
embroidered 4” high on the left-front in full colour. Legion gold and
blue piping has been used to nicely accent the collar and wrist bands.
The jackets are finished off with a good zipper and lined pockets.
Very often we find ourselves using a garment in a way it was not
intended for, the typical example being a zip-out fleece liner for a
coat ending up as a jacket unto itself. With this comfortable fleece
jacket, you will no longer need to do that. This jacket is luxurious,
heavy, Legion blue fleece with ribbed knit waistband and cuffs, a
heavy duty zipper and ample kangaroo style pockets. The Legion
Logo is beautifully embroidered on the left chest.

Every now and again you’ll buy a garment that you don’t know how
you got along without. You find yourself wearing it all the time. This
is one of those garments. It’s dressier than a fleece jacket, but just
as warm. The waffle quilt pattern bridges that gap between casual
and dressy. It has a classic cut and the detailing is exceptional. The
cuffs can be turned up and the seam is finished so that it doesn’t look
scruffy. Side seam pockets aren’t the shallow ones just big enough
for your hand, they’re actually big enough to put something in. Great
zipper. Nicely embroidered with the Legion Logo.
Usually when a sample for a new product comes in, our product
development team immediately starts a list of things that need to
be changed before we can go to production, and a second sample
eventually is produced to respond to the list of changes. The day it
arrived, this cardigan was just right. We looked and looked at every
detail and try as we may, a list of changes was not happening. It is a
great colour. The weight of the fabric is right. The buttons are right.
It has excellent bound pockets and ribbed cuffs. The neck binding
is great, and the sizing is excellent. All we had to do was add the
embroidered Legion Logo. We’re sure you’ll be as happy with it as
we are.
Styles come and go, but there are some garments that transcend
the flavour-of-the-day mentality of modern fashion. Our club jacket

Since their arrival, these jackets have been jumping off our shelves.

grade, but are a better quality of material and lens

Calling this a Gym Bag is really just a convention. These bags, while
they may have been designed to carry gym clothes, are exceptionally
versatile in their usage. When our product research team decided to
add this item to our inventory, the qualities they put at the top of the
list were durability, usefulness and simplicity. It has all the features
you need, like nylon web handles, a detachable shoulder strap, a

Canada’s Aboriginal people
have a long history of military
service, from the time of the
American Revolution to the
modern era. Joseph Brant
fought alongside the Loyalists
to prevent the spread of the revolution
into what is now Canada. Four generations later, his greatgreat-grandson, Lt. Cameron Brant died in battle at Ypres.
Down through the years, heroes such as Tecumseh, who died
in 1813 at the battle of the Thames, George McLean, a veteran
of the Boer War who was wounded in heroic action at Vimy
Ridge, and Word War II and Korea Veteran Tommy Prince,
recipient of the Military Medal and the Silver Star, exemplify
the commitment to principles that are essential to the fabric
of Canadian Society today. The Royal Canadian Legion is
honoured to recognize the contributions of today’s Aboriginal
Members of the Canadian Forces as well as their ancestors.
BIRTH OF A NATION
Commemorative Lapel Pin
On Easter Monday, April 9, 1917, 100,000 Canadian soldiers
stormed and captured Vimy Ridge in France. It was one of the
great victories of World War I. Although the cost to Canada was
high - 3,600 dead and more than 7,000 wounded - historians
say this victory marked the birth of Canada as a nation. It was
the first battle in which all units of the Canadian Army fought
together, and their success was overwhelming.
To recognize the battle of Vimy
Ridge the Supply Department

battle should always be remembered, and decided to build a
monument at Vimy Ridge. Reaching 40 metres into the sky, the
Vimy Memorial is made from 6,000 tons of white limestone.

THE 11TH HOUR, THE 11TH DAY,
THE 11TH MONTH
At the darkest hour before the dawn on 11 November 1918 a
train car sat in a forest 50 kilometres north of Paris. Inside, a
treaty was signed to end hostilities that had ravaged Europe for
more than four years. Six hours later, at the 11th hour on the 11th
day of the 11th month, the guns fell silent. It was the beginning
of the end of the Great War, the “War to End All Wars.”
As the news spread, there was celebration in some places, but
at the “Front,” where soldiers stared at each other across “No
Man’s Land,” no one cheered. For certain, they were happy to
still be alive, but all around them, as far as the eye could see,
lay devastation beyond belief. Culture in Europe, centuries in
the making, lay in ruins. Eight million people had been killed.
Those who survived laid down their arms and returned to their
homelands with memories of fallen comrades—memories that
would never leave them.
To you, the member of the Royal Canadian Legion,
the 11th Hour, the 11th Day, the 11th Month holds
major significance. It is the foundation of the
Tradition of Remembrance. It is a significant goal
of the Legion to maintain the connection between
Remembrance Day and the historic events on
which the tradition is founded. To help you carry

Of all the significant events of the 20th Century, the Normandy
Invasion on 6 June 1944 was the most important, changing the
course of history. It marked the beginning of the end of Nazi
rule in Europe and ultimately led to the development of the
modern world. Canada made a major contribution to the D-Day
attack by taking responsibility for one of the five beachheads,
known forever afterwards as Juno Beach. 14,000 Canadian
troops by ship and 450 by parachute landed in the early hours
of that fateful day, supported by the Royal Canadian Navy and
the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Juno Beach represents the will of Canada as a nation to preserve
and defend freedom and democracy, not only for ourselves
but also for others saddled with the yoke of oppression. The

The Tradition of Remembrance is a priority of the Royal
Canadian Legion. It is not often that the Supply Department
discovers products that are dedicated to that cause. The company
producing these cards has collaborated with Veterans Affairs
Canada to produce an attractive and well informed series of cards
that will appeal to students, educators, parents, veterans, history
buffs, Canadians from all walks of life. They are an ideal way to
engage children in conversation on Remembrance.
These cards illustrate people, events and equipment related to
D-Day. Subsequent series will illustrate the First and Second World
Wars, Korea, and other chapters in Canada’s history. High quality,
full colour images are printed on premium trading card stock in the
standard 3.5” x 2.5” size, meaning that they will fit into commercially
available vinyl collector card pages. Each series of numbered cards
has checklists so the collector will know exactly what cards are
needed to complete the series.
Cards are available in packages of eight cards, 24 packages to a box.
Individual packages have a suggested retail price of $3.95 so the
cards may be used to generate funds at the branch. Cards are also
available in complete sets (112 cards), either with or without a special
collector card binder.
The producers of the D-Day Collector Cards have introduced
another item of significance to the Tradition of Remembrance- a
Teacher’s Resource Kit. The kit comes in a compact binder format
which contains a complete set of D-Day Cards (112 Cards), a 50+
page lesson plan and a DVD. The lesson plan is composed of 11
teaching modules based on the Collector cards covering 4 grade
level groupings from Elementary Grade 4 to Post-secondary. The
modules are engaging and informative, and are accompanied by
several pages of individual assessment sheets for student progress.
The DVD contains grouped images of the cards for video classroom
presentation and video interviews with Veterans. This kit is useful
not only for teachers but also for guest speakers at Remembrance
activities in the school setting.

VICTORY DAY
Considering the profound impact that the events of the Second World War has
had in shaping the modern era, it is little wonder that there was such great
celebration in allied nations when victory over the axis powers was announced.
After 6 years of devastating conflict, in all of the allied nations citizens and
military personnel alike were all overjoyed at the prospect that victory was
finally at hand. Time has passed but the memories have not faded. The Legion
Supply Department is commemorating Victory Day with a collection of three
popular items marked with the distinctive victory “V” design. Since the end
of the war in Europe occurred earlier in 1945 than in the Pacific region, there
are several dates of major significance. The design commemorates all Victory
Day dates worldwide.

Poppy Suncatcher
As with all of our Poppy images,
careful attention was devoted to
make sure that the Poppies on our
suncatcher are the real Flanders
Poppy (Papaver rhoeas). We
focused the same attention
on quality and durability as
well. We could have reduced
cost by using a lesser grade
of glass and a monofilament
hanger like most commercial
suncatchers. Instead, we use
double thickness glass, bringing
the weight of our 18 cm (over 7”)
diameter suncatcher to about half a
pound; the image is finely crafted with
colour fast acrylic bonded to the glass, the
edge is finished in traditional stained glass lead
caming, and suspended with a sturdy chain. Note also that the Poppy Suncatcher does
not come with a suction cup suspension hook. This is not an oversight - we actually
recommend that you suspend your Poppy Suncatcher from the window lock or a screw
hook firmly fastened to the window frame. Carry on the tradition of displaying a Poppy in
your window in a new way this Remembrance Day.

By now everyone in Canada has heard

by Canadian James Naismith.
His intent was to create a game
that requires little in the way of
equipment, and can be enjoyed

Silk Poppy Arrangement

During the Remembrance period, and throughout the
year, it is traditional to display Poppy arrangements.
What is surprising is how few arrangements resemble
the actual Papaver rhoeas (or Flanders Poppy). It
took the manufacturer of these arrangements a full 8
attempts before we were satisfied that the silk Poppies
were a close enough match to the Papaver rhoeas.

In recent years there has been a type of ceremony that has been growing in popularity
in some regions of the country. This service, called Candlelight Tribute Ceremony, was
started in the Netherlands in 1995 when Dutch children placed lighted candles on the
graves of Canadian Soldiers, leaving them burning overnight in silent tribute to the fallen.
Since that time, these tributes have spread across Europe, and were introduced into certain
areas of Canada.
In response to an increasing number of requests for a candle that would suit this purpose, the
Supply Department has selected a candle light that is made in the Netherlands specifically
for this purpose. The Stormy Weather Graveyard Light was introduced in 1963 by Bolsius,
a family-run company that started in 1871. The simple yet elegant design of these candles

Here are the required steps to shape a beret:
1.Start by cutting out the lining of the beret to reduce bulk and ease
shaping. If you are not shaping the beret it is better to leave the
liner in.
2.Form fit the beret. Soaking the beret before donning it will help
stretch the wool and form it to the wearer’s head. Most of the
beret’s material should be pulled down so it drapes over the right
ear. The cardboard stiffener should be centered over the wearer’s
left eye so the headband is about two finger-widths above the
eyebrow. Pinch the cardboard stiffener so that the wool dips
down behind it. Tie the two laces in the back in a non-slip knot
for a snug fit, then cut off the ends of the ties.

Legion Service Lapel Pin Badges - These Legion lapel pin badges signify Service in The Royal Canadian Legion.
Branches, Zones, Districts and Commands of The Royal Canadian Legion have established a time-honoured system for showing appreciation
to those members who dedicate their time in service to the branch by serving as elected or appointed officers. Such members are awarded
medals and ribbon bars that signify positions held. There are also awards for outstanding service beyond the call of duty. These awards cannot
be bought by the member; instead, they are bestowed on the member by their branch or command. For detailed information on the awards
found listed here, please consult the Honours and Awards Manual.
Replacement components are available, i.e. medals, ribbons, etc. The replacement parts for medals can be ordered in parts using the same
number as the medals. Ribbon replacements are listed on page 67.

Dominion Convention 2010 authorized the creation of Branch and L.A. Service
Medals for members of the Branch and of Ladies Auxiliaries to the Branch
to recognize the significant volunteer and service work accomplished by
members of your Branch, outside of or prior to their acceptance of leadership
positions. The authorizing/approving authority is designated as the Branch
Executive Committee (in the case of the Branch Service Medal) or L.A.
Executive Committee (in the case of the L.A. Service Medal) and/or respective
General Membership Meeting. Qualifying criteria are the responsibility of the
branch or L.A. Qualification for the Service Medal should be a significant level
of service provided by the member to their Branch/L.A. It may be awarded in
addition to any awards/medals previously received by the member. Branches
and Ladies Auxiliaries can purchase these Service Medals in the same manner
as other Medals for Past Service such as a Past Officer or Past President Medal.

Branch Operations
In order to understand just how complex it is to run a Legion Branch one needs to look no further than all of the different activities that
the Branch and its members are engaged in. The Supply Department is committed to making the task of branch management, well,
more manageable, by providing the support material found in this section of the Branch Catalogue. Also in this section are the forms and
documentation required to process membership.
PLAQUES
The Supply Department offers a number of plaques, both custom made and ready-made. Call

Gold Plated Badge
We try our best to provide you with the plaques and supplies necessary
to operate your branches, to honour Veterans, and to acknowledge
volunteers who provide countless hours of service. In spite of our
efforts, on a daily basis, we are asked for a different plaque, urn, or some
other item that we just hadn’t thought of or that it just isn’t economical
to make in small quantities. It is those requests that inspire us to offer
this cast Legion Badge all by itself. This Badge is available for all those
items that we just can’t make. The casting measures 3 ⅜” in height by
2 ⅛” wide and has multiple layers of gold plating over a very hard steel
casting. A small bolt, with included nut, has been welded into the back to assist in mounting the

Tribute Ceremony Candle
In recent years there has been a type of ceremony that has been growing in popularity in some
regions of the country. This service, called Candlelight Tribute Ceremony, was started in the
Netherlands in 1995 when Dutch children placed lighted candles on the graves of Canadian
Soldiers, leaving them burning overnight in silent tribute to the fallen. Since that time, these
tributes have spread across Europe, and were introduced into certain areas of Canada.
In response to an increasing number of requests for a candle that would suit this purpose, the
Supply Department has selected a candle light that is made in the Netherlands specifically for
this purpose. The Stormy Weather Graveyard Light was introduced in 1963 by Bolsius, a familyrun company that started in 1871. The simple yet elegant design of these candles features a
100% pure refined paraffin candle, contained in a durable translucent red plastic shell with a
flame-proof, weather resistant metal cap. Suitable for outdoor use only, this 5 inch high candle
is easy to light and will burn for 50-60 hours, in temperatures from +25 to -10 Celsius. The
subtle glow of these candle lights, especially when used in numbers, creates a solemn and
unforgettable image for your evening Remembrance or Memorial event.

Jumbo Remarkable Cheque
This Jumbo Re-markable Cheque wasn’t on our radar at all until
one of our branches suggested it. The need for this item arises
from the fact that a wealth of charitable donations are made by
you, the Branches of the Royal Canadian Legion. While we cannot
ship out large flat cheques, we can produce the remarkable
portion of the cheque that would not be economical for you to
have made. These reusable templates are 36” wide by 16” high.
You will receive these templates rolled up with the intention that
you will locally obtain foam core or Coroplast to mount them
on. This can be done with any contact cement or adhesive. The
cheques can then be reused like any white board or remarkable
material.

This line of greeting cards has been produced in-house by
The Royal Canadian Legion’s own Patrick Riley. Comrade
Riley created these images using authentic WWI uniforms
supplied courtesy of Canada’s War Museum. These are
economical because they have been produced in-house
with the printing arranged locally. Sold in sets of 10 or
a sample pack, 2 of each, these cards are priced quite
affordably when compared to the $4 and up charged by
others for a single card. The cards have been printed on
brilliant white 80 lb card stock and are supplied complete
with envelopes. Another nice touch is the fact that the
interior of the cards has been left blank. We thought you,
like us, would prefer to include a personal note rather than
an impersonal statement written by someone else. One
card, “All Occasion” has been intentionally left untitled for

This comfortable cotton twill apron allows
the server to keep everything handy in its

If you have tried to obtain custom made
coasters you probably soon realized that they
are prohibitively expensive to buy in small
quantities. Only when tens of thousands are
ordered does the cost become reasonable.
These packs of 100 coasters are custom
made for The Royal Canadian Legion with
our Badge nicely displayed in the centre. We
ordered enough to make them economical.
At just under 10¢ apiece it is now affordable
to place a “Legion” coaster under the glass of
a member. Though these 3½” coasters, made
with an extra heavy 40 point stock, are not
defined as reusable, they certainly are thick
enough that they can be reused until they
start to show wear. We specifically ordered
these coasters with a blue background in a
heavier weight to allow them to be reused.
Although intended primarily for Branches,
members may also obtain these coasters for
use at home.

A. Legion Logo Sign
This may look like a license plate but it is not.
In response to many requests for affordable
Legion signage, the Supply Department now
offers this versatile Legion Logo sign suitable for
outdoor use. It is made in the style and material
of a license plate, but at 5 ½“ x 11” it is slightly
smaller than a license plate, and the mounting
holes are in a different location. Weatherproof in
all seasons, it will prove to be very useful in all
sorts of situations where a small reflective sign
is needed.

B. Legion Badge Sign
Cast Resin 29” Legion Badge
This badge has been specially made of a durable poly-resin suitable for outdoor use.
The colours are permanent and fade resistant. The finish is designed to endure severe
weather conditions and is washable and repaintable. Included with the badge are
instructions and mounting bolts that fit into threaded fastening holes in the back of
the badge. Unlike its much heavier metal counterparts, this badge weighs in at 7.5
kg (16.5 lb), making it useful in many more applications and considerably reducing
installation challenges.

Legion
Chaplains
provide
countless
hours of volunteer service to branches
and commands. It was suggested that
a stole be made for wear by a Chaplain
performing this critical role in The Royal
Canadian Legion. This non-denominational
stole is made with an ultrasuede front

requires both skill and the right equipment.
Handling a tray full of drinks is not as easy as
it looks, but using a tray designed specifically
for that purpose makes the task easier. The
Legion Server’s Tray is manufactured in
Canada for the Legion by a company that
specializes in restaurant supplies. It is made
of thick, high impact black plastic, rigid
enough to handle a full load of drinks and

susceptible to getting
stained when handling a
flag and pike on parade.
They are also less than
comfortable in inclement
weather. These vinyl
gauntlets can be wiped clean,
and are weather resistant. They
are unlined, so they can be worn in
warm weather, but also can be worn
over another glove for warmth in winter.

Sgt-at-Arms sashes are another item where we
felt we could do better in terms of value. These
sashes are virtually identical to the ones we have
been offering for years except that the Legion and
Ladies Auxiliary badges are embroidered instead
of the mounted plastic badges. We happen to
think the embroidered badges are preferable
and at half the price we are certain you’ll find
these do in fact represent much better value. The
Legion sashes are available in three sizes while
the Ladies Auxiliary is available in the smaller two
sizes. What we describe as Short, Medium, and
Tall has internal circumferences of 49” (short), 61”
(medium), and 69” (tall). If you are uncertain about
size you may use a cut piece of rope or fabric
measuring tape to determine which size is most
appropriate. What we now describe as medium is
the size of the sash we previously offered.
Arm Band
These are blue and gold cloth armbands with an elastic panel on the
inside of the arm, so that they will fit over the sleeve in both winter
and summer. Worn on the left upper arm.

and toggle. Grommet clips are available in the flag accessories section
of our annual catalogue. All colour party flags are available with fringes
and in both 6’ x 3’ and 54” x 27”. Please note that flag protocol requires
that the Canadian flag be at least as large as any flag displayed in our
colours. It is our hope that offering an increasingly comprehensive line

There are several components to a complete flag unit. There is the obvious
flag, pike, pike top and stand. Offering sets including all of these components
only results in forcing you to settle for something that is close to what you
really wanted. This is why we distribute all flag components separately. All
components are compatible with a few exceptions. The acorn tops will not
fit on the wood pikes and the 1¼” wood pikes will not fit in the economy
stands or angled wall bracket. Aside from these exceptions, the balance of
tops will fit on any of the pikes.
Chicago Screw Head Set
Grommet Clips
Over the last few decades the use of flags
with grommets has replaced almost all with
rope and toggle. Grommet clips are required
to attach flags with grommets to the halyard
(hoisting rope) on flagpoles. These clips are
available individually. Two are required on all
of our grommeted flags except for the 4½’ x
9’ which requires three.

Yes, we still carry it. There are still lots of the
older design pikes out there that don’t have
the spring button attachment. Buy several
of these and put them in your pocket when
you go on parade. You know somebody’s
will go missing at the most inconvenient
time.

Wall-Mount Flag Kit
These brackets have been designed for
home, cottage, or light commercial use. They
use light but sturdy aluminum creating an
easy but economical method of flying flags.
The bracket for a 27” x 54” flag includes a
6’ pole while the bracket for use on 3’ x 6’
flags utilizes the included 8’ pole. Both kits
include a cast aluminum wall mount bracket,
gold coloured acorn finial, and screws for
mounting.

This product is designed to make your colour
party’s road trips more manageable. This
alternative to our carrying case for a single
flag is specially made for us. It is designed
to hold up to six 6’ x 3’ flags, six aluminum
pikes, and six carrier slings. Reinforced at
both ends it measures 62” in length and is
made of heavy black vinyl. A 7” embroidered
Legion Badge nicely adorns the side of the
case.

Flag Pikes
Pikes are available in a full range. The 1¼” diameter oak pike will not fit
into the economy stand or angled wall bracket. All pikes are the standard
8’ in height. The wood pikes thread together where the aluminum pikes
contain an internal spring clip to hold them together. Pike tops, flags, and
stands must be ordered separately. All pikes are supplied with the required
“C” clips to hold the flag in place. Wood pikes are supplied with only one
“C” clip as this is all that is required. All metal pikes are shipped with the
required and installed wood plug necessary to mount all pike tops.

Flag Pike Tops
All of these flag pike tops fit all pikes with the exception of the
economical plastic acorn top not being compatible with the wood
pikes. This plastic top will also require you to remove the wood

From an inventory management perspective
it is impractical for us to offer all provincial
flags with fringe. For this reason we are now
offering the exact fringe used on our flags.
This fringe is sold by the yard and will be
provided to you uncut in one continuous
length. Fringe is typically used on a sleeved
flag although there is no reason it cannot be
used on a flag with grommets. Fringe is used
only on three sides so 15 feet is required for
all 6’ x 3’ flags.

stands are offered. The hefty premier stand weighs in excess of 5 lbs.
The premier stand is constructed with a collar to fit a 1¼” diameter
pike but includes a piece of plastic tubing allowing it to be used with
1” diameter pikes. The economical folding stand uses four extending
rods for stability rather than weight. The folding stand will only accept
pikes up to 1” in diameter. Both stands are made with brass plated steel,

The Supply Department has developed a simple but effective
Lapel Pin to make the name Legion more visible, and to
promote the organization, providing opportunities to attract
new members. Pricing of these pins is structured so that
Branches can raise funds by selling them, or use them as an
inexpensive promotional item.

case will hold a set of darts with the flights
on in a removable plastic holder. This plastic
holder insert keeps the dart flights in gameready condition. No more fidgeting around
trying to straighten out your flights from
being in a plain flat case. The durable exterior
is adorned with an embroidered full colour
Legion Badge. Double zipper on three sides
allows the whole front to fold back for easy
access to your darts and accessory pockets

has two features that will
enhance your dart playing
experience. First is the horse
hair composition, known
for its superior dart holding

throw a 90 mile-an-hour
fastball to make your dart
stick. Second is the “no-bounce” dividing wire grid. Inferior boards have an actual wire grid
that is superimposed on the board to separate the sections. The wires are thick, and a dart
that hits the wire will bounce off and end up on the floor. The new technology incorporates a
series of thin metal sheets that are imbedded in the board itself, presenting only a thin edge

Dartboard Surround with Foam

Even the best of darts players miss the board sometimes, especially when trying to double
out on those pesky numbers at the bottom of the board. This is particularly distressing to
those with more expensive darts, when the dart bounces off a hard wall and crashes to the
even harder floor. There is now a product that mitigates the consequences of those near
misses. The Supply Department now carries a Dart Board Surround. This is a nice big dart
surround to protect your walls as well as your darts. It features a solid wood frame with
masonite back that holds the 30 inch square foam. The hardwood frame is finished in black
and holds a regulation size 18” dart board (sold separately). It's pre-drilled for hanging and
includes screws and plugs for mounting to the wall. The centre is even marked for easy
installation of your dart board.

than we would prefer; hence the adage, “The older I get, the better I was.” We hope these pins fulfill your
need to recognize these great events. Specifically with the dart pins, we have had a range produced allowing
for variation in the level of players skill. Pins are all supplied with a standard butterfly clutch backing and have

Cribbage Board
Here is where we separate the real crib
players from the rest. Finding a crib
board without plastic pegs is normally
about as easy as scoring “19”. It is time
to recount that hand because you will no
longer have to heat up paper clips to melt
into the holes in your board to remove
those snapped off plastic pegs. This
board made in the traditional “29” layout
includes metal pegs in brass, black and silver colouring. Three
of each peg are included so you have one spare in every colour.

Shuffleboard Rocks
High quality Shuffleboard rocks are essential to consistent play. Shuffleboard
rocks are also referred to as shuffleboard pucks or weights. Sun-Glo Professional
Grade (Spangler) pucks have patented thumb push-offs. Spangler pucks are
high-polish solid stainless steel (not chrome plated). Stainless pucks last much
longer than chrome plated pucks which are more common. These are the large
tournament size 2 5/16'' diameter. A set of rocks consists of 4 Red and 4 Green.

Critical to the enjoyment of the game of shuffleboard is the quality of the
playing surface. Good maintenance is the key to a smooth and flawless surface
that results in predictability in your shots. The three essential steps in providing
a good surface to your shuffleboard are cleaning, polishing and waxing.
Jett Shuffleboard Cleaner has been specially formulated to cut through waxy
residue, leaving your shuffleboard squeaky clean. Use about once a week. For
the best playing conditions, polish the playing surface with Jett Shuffleboard
Silicone Polish after cleaning. Jett Shuffleboard Cleaner is phosphate-free and
biodegradable.

was a challenging task. We were aware that
we were choosing “house cues,” and as such
they needed to be durable, straight, and of
average weight and length. By choosing
these cues, we got a solid maple, single piece,

With many of our products, the Supply Department’s product development team
is challenged with taking an existing item and making modifications to suit your
needs. This line of jewellery is different. We found a Canadian manufacturer
who was willing to work with our in-house artist Karen Taylor to produce these
expressive pieces of wearable art. They are designed and made in Canada utilizing
the finest craftsmanship, cast with Canadian Pewter and silver plated.

Thanks goes out to artist Karen Taylor for designing this beautiful
bag. Her original artwork transforms a day-to-day item into a fashion
accessory. Technically it’s a tote bag, but it is nice enough
to be carried as a purse. The size is perfect- 15’
long by 10’ high. The white insets with the Poppy
print are actually pockets. The bag and handles
are made from heavy canvas and features a gusset
bottom for extra capacity. It is fully lined and the top has
