The monthly meeting of the Falls City Mustang Club was called to order by
President Steve Merritt on 17 February 2016. Marty Clegg, Sec/Treasurer gave an
update of the club finances along with copies of the monthly treasurer’s report.
Frank Hayden, Early Model VP, spoke about an independent rear suspension
installed on two ’65 Mustangs by Ford as part of a potential upgrade to the
Mustang. Both of these cars have now been restored with the thought of
patterning the IRS for aftermarket parts for early model Mustangs. Kamos
Glover, Late Model VP, gave out additional information on the slide show he
presented at the January meeting regarding a collection of very low mileage,
newer collectable Mustangs. The collection was sold at the Barrett-Jackson
auction recently. Brenda Clegg, Membership Chairperson, announced that Phil
and Callista Steinmetz of Jeffersonville, have become members, owning a 2004
GT 40th Anniversary convertible. Frank Hayden, MCA Regional Director, listed
the 2016 MCA shows; April 15-17 at St. Augustine, Florida, June 3-5 at Reno,
Nevada, July 22-24 at Grand Island, New York, September 30-October 2 at Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina and the MCA 40th Anniversary show on September 1-4 at
the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Past club outings included bowling at Eastern
Lanes in Clarksville. Larry Mayfield won the high series with Tim Enos getting
the Turkey trophy in January and Steve won both trophies in February. In regard
to this quarter donations, Steve mentioned several possibilities but any decision
was tabled until the March meeting. The FCMC has been invited to participate in
the Charlestown Founders parade on June 25. The FCMC plans to meet up with
the Queen City Mustangers at Belterra Casino on Saturday, March 5 at 11am for
our annual winter get together; Steve will send out a reminder prior to this outing.
Steve read aloud a number of spring car shows and events usually attended by the
FCMC to include the Kyana Swap Meet at the Kentucky Fairgrounds on March
11-13, the Mustang birthday bash at Jim O’Neal Ford on April 16 hosted by the
FCMC, the Frankfort Pony Car Roundup on April 23 hosted by the Frankfort
Mustang Club, the Derby City Mustang Club Mustang Birthday Bash on April 24
at Bill Collins Ford, and finally the Madison Riverfront car show on May 28. On
a side note, Kamos related a story about damage to his 2014 Hertz Penske GT by
a detailer and advice on what to consider when having someone detail your car.
Dining prior to the March meeting will be at Daisy’s Country Cooking in New
Albany. Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Annual Casino Trip with Queen City Mustangers - This year we will be going to Belterra Casino in Vevay IN.
We will be meeting Queen City Mustangers around 11 am to have lunch and then a little gaming.

February Bowling Outing
February 13th was our bowling outing at Eastern Lanes in Clarksville. Despite the cold weather we had
a great turnout with several bowling and a few watching. Several "Turkeys" were made with starting
with Tim L, Marty and then Steve taking home the Traveling Turkey Trophy and the High Series
Trophy for the year. After bowling we went to Bob Evans for dinner.
