and Chinese New Year 2013 - "The Year of the (Water) Snake"
Hello,
This is your invitation to attend Gung Haggis Fat Choy 7. This unique and very
successful event is in its seventh year. We are celebrating Chinese New Year 2013 - "Year
of the (Water) Snake" and the 254th birthday of Robert Burns, the bard of Scotland. As
producer of Gung Haggis Fat Choy - Seattle, it is my hope that you can join us Sunday
evening, February 17th, 4:00-8:30 p.m. Bring your friends and come to a Chinese/Scottish
event for a cultural experience like no other. Please refer to the accompanying flyer for
details.
This year we are again at China Harbor Restaurant on Westlake in Seattle, with
tables rearranged for better viewing of the entertainment. As before, the
evening includes an eight-course Chinese banquet, with haggis, of course,
and Toddish MacWong's amazing rap rendition of Robert Burns' "Address
to the Haggis".
Each Gung Haggis Fat Choy-Seattle dinner is a fund raiser for
Chinese and Scottish youth music, dance, and martial arts scholarship
programs.
While the program for Gung Haggis Fat Choy varies from year to year, we try to keep
a balance between Scottish and Chinese entertainment with a full evening of
cultural variety. Entertainers from Canada and New Mexico, as well as local
and not-so-local talent will be performing. This year we are very pleased to
announce that the Pipes, Drums, and Dancers of the Keith Highlanders and
Chinese Lion Dance Troupe from Northwest Kung Fu and Fitness directed by
Sifu David Leong, and Mr. Warren Chang's Asian Youth Orchestra are our
featured groups.
Ticket price is still only $35.00 per person. Seating limited to 25 tables (250 seats).
Early reservations and tables of 10 will receive preferred seating, as available.
