MOONLIGHT SPECIAL FUNDRAISER
A UNIQUE CONCERT EXPERIENCE
Well-Strung in Concert
JULY 9 | 8 PM
Well-Strung, a New York City based string quartet, derives
their unique blend of vocals and strings by brilliantly fusing
classical music with the pop music of today. Well-Strung has
been receiving rave reviews at Feinstein’s/54 Below and all
over the world, from the House of Blues in New Orleans to
the Leicester Square Theatre in London.
From Taylor Swift to Beethoven, selections will be performed from the most beautiful and traditional
melodies to irreverent “newly-observed “ chart toppers...and everything in between.
Well-Strung’s recent CD Popssical debuted at #8 on Billboard’s Classical/Crossover chart this past October.
Chris Mann & Shoshana Bean in Concert
NOVEMBER 12 | 8 PM
Chris Mann: Golden
Join Chris Mann for a spectacular musical evening
featuring songs from the Golden Age of Broadway, the
Great American Songbook and his chart-topping albums.
Mann rose to fame as Christina Aguilera’s finalist on NBC’s
The Voice. Since then, his debut album, Roads, hit #1 on
Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, he starred in his own PBS
television special: A Mann For All Seasons and is currently starring as The Phantom in The Spectacular
New Production of The Phantom of the Opera National Broadway Tour.
Critics hail Mann as “a bona fide breakout star” and “the best “Phantom of the Opera” since
Michael Crawford!”
Enjoy an evening of beloved hits and new favorites for one night only at the Moonlight!
New, up and coming Shoshana Bean is magnificent and stirring, always original, heartfelt, and
quite funny when needed. See her at Moonlight and you will be able to say you saw her when . . .
Over the years, Broadway star and recording artist Shoshana Bean has become synonymous
with the word “soulful”. Bean is best known for her roles in the Broadway smash hits Wicked
and Hairspray, and a stellar performance alongside Brian McKnight on the Soul Train Lady of
Soul Awards. But since the release of her debut solo album, Superhero, it is said that Bean can
match Barbra Streisand’s range and challenge Madonna’s style – and this is just the beginning
of her career!

2017 MOONLIGHT CABARET SERIES
A hit with audiences which resulted in sold-out performances earlier
this year, our Amphitheatre stage is transformed into ClubM, our
fully enclosed intimate indoor performance venue featuring cabaret
tables, pre-show dining and top-flight entertainment. Each concert is $80 and
includes dinner and the show.
Molly Ringwald in Concert
JANUARY 21, 2017 | 2 PM & 8 PM
Broadway audiences embraced her as Sally Bowles
in Cabaret, as well as in Enchanted April and Modern
Orthodox. But what many people may not realize is
that this Broadway leading lady has a bona fide classic
jazz background: her father is blind jazz pianist Bob
Ringwald. Recognized as an icon of the 80’s with breakout
performances in Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and
Pretty in Pink, Molly Ringwald will share her sultry pipes in a
concert featuring great jazz standards.
Mandy harvey
FEBRUARY 11, 2017 | 2 PM & 8 PM
In 2009, Mandy’s first album, Smile was released, to widespread
praise. Since then, she has released two more critically acclaimed
albums: After You’ve Gone and All of Me. Though her hearing
loss is profound, her timing, pitch, and passion are perfect. That’s
why the media, including NBC Nightly News, have taken notice.
The Los Angeles Times raved, “From the first note, Mandy Harvey
tames her audience into stunned appreciation as she glides
pitch-perfect from breathy jazz standard to growling blues….
At show’s end the audience is on its feet.”
The Four Freshmen
MARCH 11, 2017 | 2 PM & 8 PM
Four parts harmony, a twist of elegance, with a splash
of swing, and a whole lot of fun! Now in their 62nd year
of performance, The Four Freshmen continue to bring
their unique brand of vocal harmony to audiences
worldwide. The legendary sound that began in 1948
with Bob, Don, Ross and Hal continues on in the 21st

WELCOME TO SISTER ACT
How can one resist Sister Act? The classic comedy premiered
first as a feature film starring Whoopi Goldberg in 1992. It
was an instant hit with its crazy plot of a nightclub singer who
becomes an unlikely “Nun on the Run,” all the while turning
a woefully bad choir into a group of hip, angelic song stylists
with sassy grooves. Then, on April 20, 2011, the stage musical premiered
on Broadway with Jerry Zaks serving as director. The show received
multiple Tony Award nominations for the 2011 season, including for Best
Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
The production closed on August 26, 2012 after 28 previews and 561
performances. The musical version of Sister Act had multiple incarnations,
starting at the Pasadena Playhouse, then London, and finally the Broadway
version that you are seeing tonight. It is this version, driven by a wonderful
score by Disney veteran Alan Menken (Little Mermaid, Aladdin, etc.)
that gives the show its heart and soul. As we follow Deloris through her
adventures, we find ourselves rooting for her just as we did when watching
the film version a couple of decades ago. Once again, I have been spoiled
with an amazing company of performers who have delivered an evening
of incredible singing, spot on dancing and gut busting comedy sure
to please. The company and crew together have brought all of these
elements together for a show that is perfect for enjoying on a fine summer
night at the Moonlight. Have a grand time!

Dear Friends,
Thanks to donor commitment, we were able to
end fiscal year 2015 2% above revenue goal
and $72,000 below our original budget. Thank
you! The combination of continued generosity,
and our internal prudence and resourcefulness,
Toria Watson
Jane Mitchell
enabled us to support educational and
community arts outreach programs as well as provide Moonlight Stage
Productions much needed additional funds to support year-round programming
at Moonlight Amphitheatre.
Theatre arts rely on two sources of income: funds raised from ticket sales
and philanthropic contributions from private donors. With your additional
contribution we help our community thrive, and we do that by presenting the
highest quality live theatre, providing partnership opportunities, and preparing
our youth with artistically innovative education programs. These components are
important economic drivers to our community and region.
The Moonlight Cultural Foundation takes great pride in serving the City of Vista
and Moonlight Stage Productions and Moonlight Presents. We support the
Moonlight Amphitheatre as a community gathering place where people can
come together to celebrate, heal, escape through Broadway caliber productions
and cultural arts programming.
As always, it is your ultimate participation in the arts that makes Moonlight
Stage Productions one of Southern California’s most professional and mature
performing arts institutions and the jewel of San Diego North County.
Gratefully,
Toria Watson
