Bullitt County Family YMCA
WELCOME
Thank you for using the YMCA Kids’ Club! Our YMCA is committed to the causes of youth
development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are working hard every day to support
our community and help our members grow in spirit, mind, and body.
We are excited to have your child here. The Kids’ Club mission is for parents to feel secure and
happy that their children are engaged in activities that contribute to their healthy development
in spirit, mind, and body. Our goal is for children to love these drop-in programs so much that
they will beg their parents to bring them to the Y.
The Y is creating an environment where your child can learn, grow, and thrive. Here are some
additional areas we think are important:
Staff– Our staff are committed, caring, nurturing individuals that invest themselves in making
sure your child is well cared for.
Safety– We work hard to create a place where kids feel safe and can play, run, jump, crawl, and
have fun! Supervision is key, and all staff are trained in First Aid and CPR.
Cleanliness– Caring for kids can be a messy job! We are committed to frequent cleaning and
sanitization schedules for all Kids’ Club areas.
Fun Activities- Kids’ Club is all about FUN! We have special activities, crafts, and games just
for your kids.
If at any point you should have questions, comments, or concerns, please share them with one
of the Kids’ Club staff or myself. We are happy to help in any way we can.
Sincerely,
Anita Stump

Safety Procedures
When dropping off your child at the YMCA
you will be asked to scan your membership
card then we will check your child in to the
Kids’ Club area from your membership
screen. When exiting Kids’ Club, we will
again scan your card and pull up your family’s pictures to make sure the right parents are leaving with the appropriate child.
If you have any questions about our system, please feel free to ask and we will
show you how it works.
Kids’ Club Reminders

Due to food allergies and safety, food (other than bottles) is not permitted in Kids’ Club. If you are dropping off a bottle please let us know when to offer it to your child, we are happy to help.

Please make sure your child is dropped of with a clean diaper. Your child will be checked and changed on a
regular basis. Please provide diapers and wipes.

Please do not bring toys from home, we have lots of things to play with! Toys from home can sometimes
create problems with sharing.

Some children may experience anxiety when entering Kids’ Club, this is very normal. We will work hard to
make your child comfortable, however if crying continues, after 15 minutes we may come to get you to
help calm your child. Staff will come get you sooner at your request. Our staff take great pride in helping
children overcome separation anxiety, but sometimes we may need to ask for your help.

Kids’ Club staff will use redirection to deal with behavioral issue. If redirection does not work your child
will be asked to sit in time out, one minute per year of age, to allow them time to calm down. Our staff will
speak to you if your child continues to struggle with behavior.

To keep Kids Club as clean and sanitary as possible, only those that are potty-trained can play in the Kids
Zone. We also ask all children that use the Kids Zone please wear socks.
