From The Desk of Michael Blichasz
Industries, Jobs and Services Equal Success
Through the Buy American Made Campaign we
have been able to gather the support of millions of
Americans who are concerned about the future.
Together we are now speaking up seriously about
restoring our ailing industrial base and producing
more of the items we use on a day-to-day basis here in the U.S.A.
With new technology America's businesses have more
opportunities to manufacture competitively priced products so there
is no excuse for businesses not to produce the items we want and
need in the U.S.A. As businesses see that Americans are going out
of their way to purchase items with a made in the U.S.A. label, they
will feel more confident about expanding their operations to keep up
with demand. Greater demand and sales volume for American made
products will permit businesses to produce items at competitive
prices so help our cause by looking for items made in the U.S.A.
The global market is here to stay, but, by directing your
purchasing power to items produced by American suppliers, we are
helping one another and working toward the goal of a 50/50 balance
between domestic and imported products in America's stores.
Since many companies stated that they shifted production
overseas because of cheaper labor and greater profits for their
investors, I think it's time for us to shop around and support the
businesses that did not abandon America so they could increase
their product lines and get more Americans working again.
I thank the newspapers, television and radio programs, Internet
sites, organizations, church groups and individuals that have been
promoting AmericanWorkersNeedYou.com and the Buy American
Made Campaign. Kindly spread the word and review the other
commentaries listed in this newspaper.

Tens of Millions Need Us to Unite!
Before the new world economy expanded and outsourcing became
the thing to do, America’s graduates were able to find jobs prior
to or shortly after graduation. Today, many of our graduates are
among the tens of millions of Americans who can’t find jobs. Some
Americans point the finger of blame at government leaders for
not looking out for the people, while others blame the free market
economy for taking control of our lives and livelihoods. However,
much of the blame is due to the fact that the American people did not
stop, look, listen and assess what was going wrong as we hit bump
after bump on the road of America’s declining economy and the loss
of tens of millions of jobs during the last 30 years.
As of June 2012, America’s population is
over 313 million. There are 142 million
Americans presently employed (that’s
45.5% of the population). There are
24 million plus people in need of a job
immediately and millions more seeking
part-time job opportunities. When you
add in hundreds of thousands of new
graduates seeking to be employed as soon
as possible, you can understand why the efforts of the Buy American
Made Campaign are so important.
With a population of 313 million, America’s businesses should
be able to have job opportunities available for at least 60% of its
employable people with full and part-time jobs. That means we
should have around 187 million people employed and paying U.S.
income taxes, or 45 million more people employed than we have
today. With only 142 million employed, we know why our economy is
where it is and why America’s national elected leaders are borrowing
40 cents per dollar to maintain government services. Pointing the
finger of blame is not worth our time or effort, but working together
to expand America’s industrial landscape with the theme, “what was
once made in America, will be made in America again” is where our
efforts must be focused!
Keep looking for, asking for and buying American made products
and be sure to keep me posted about your efforts. For more
information about the statistics listed in this commentary, look at the
U.S. Debt Clock located on the front page of:

No New Taxes Until We Reach 5%
It is disappointing to see that national elected leaders neglected
the long-term well-being of the American people for many years. In
order to make up for lost time, I’m suggesting that all elected leaders
direct all of their efforts to improving the climate for private sector
businesses to expand in the U.S.A. Americans need employment
opportunities to rise, job skills to increase and a businesses climate
where businesses can make a fair profit and not be forced to
outsource jobs because they are being over regulated and over taxed
in America. If more funds are needed to stimulate business, it is time
to cut the cost of government services, including elected officials’
salaries, benefits and travel expenses.

I’m suggesting that there be NO NEW
TAXES permitted at any level, federal,
state or local government UNTIL America’s
unemployment rate is reduced to 5% or
below and the unemployment rate remains
at 5 % for at least 3 years. I’m sure we all
agree that if our economy and incomes are
not growing, how can people be asked to pay
more taxes, and why would new taxes even be considered!
It is time for government costs to be carefully monitored and an
opportunity for the national media to follow government spending
and report on the efforts of our national leaders to stabilize America’s
economy. The American people should be well informed of what their
taxes are supporting and of the efforts of America’s national leaders
to reduce taxes and get America’s unemployment rate back down
to 5%.
The growth in government expenses has caused the 15 TRILLION
debt that America’s National Elected Leaders approved claiming
the national debt was necessary and in our best interest and for
our national security. I feel 24 million new job opportunities are
what would be in the best interest of America. To help us reach our
goals, I urge you to contact your elected officials, spend your dollars
supporting America’s businesses employing American workers and in
the process see more items made in the U.S.A. available at the stores
where we shop.
When the Economy Goes Flat, Who Loses?
As we watch the aftermath of the four years of recession in the
U.S.A., we see that this down-turn has changed the lives of tens of
millions of Americans, and we must ask the question, "When The
Economy Goes Flat, Who Loses"? Here are a few thoughts:
1. National, state and local government officials don't lose because they are paid by our tax dollars no matter how the economy is doing.
2. American workers are the first to lose because the businesses that employ them often downsize or move manufacturing and other services overseas to avoid growing taxes, government regulations and the rising costs of doing business in the U.S.A
3. Small and medium sized businesses across the U.S.A. lose because their daily operational costs don't stop or go down because there is a recession, so they must work harder, cut workers, and take the risk of remaining in business or closing operations to cut their losses.
These few thoughts highlight why change in AMERICA is
imperative. First we see that national, state and local elected leaders
get paid in good times or in bad, so there is very little incentive for
them to do more for the American people. However, if political leaders
had their salary and expenses reduced during a recession, things
would be different. Secondly, we clearly see that America's leaders
continue to work hard to find creative ways to tax Americans to cover
expenses they approved. I suggest that their pay be cut until they
find creative ways to not only keep businesses in the U.S.A., but help
private sector businesses create the 24 million jobs needed to move
our nation and the economy forward again.
I urge you to join me in reminding elected leaders that they are
paid to find ways to make life better for the American people, not
see our nation on a decline. Remind them that the most important
stimulus America needs is qualified elected leaders bringing private
sector business leaders together to focus on EXPANDING and
RESTORING industries in the America. It is time to cut through
the RED TAPE and address the real issues that face us. All of us
want to hear what national leaders are doing to create jobs, expand
job skills, and bring America's economy back to life again. None of
us are interested in hearing about dreams or promises, or one line
statements that are nothing more than words. We want written plans
that will bring results, plans that focus on America and the American
people FIRST!

Support Your Local Small Businesses
High Energy Prices Means Less Jobs!
High gas prices continue to hurt the ability of America's businesses
to restore the industries we so badly need and get people back to
work. High taxes, high energy costs and growing regulations have
made it impossible for businesses to pay employees and operate at a
profit, therefore, many businesses chose to outsource manufacturing
in order to keep their products on store shelves. However, as national
elected officials saw American jobs being lost to outsourcing, they
should have brought business leaders together immediately and
decided how best to maintain and restore jobs in the U.S.A. It is
always easy to blame others for our poor economy, but the American
people should have been asking loud and clear, "Who is accountable
for the rising costs of gas, the loss of jobs, a flat economy, but most
of all, what are national leaders doing to resolve our crisis".
Everyone is asked to help promote National Small Business
Weekend by shopping at your local businesses during the first
Friday, Saturday and Sunday of every month.
As you shop at local businesses let them know that you’re a
supporter of National Small Business Weekend which promotes
local businesses and supports local communities and local
economies.
Our Mission
1. Promote America’s businesses and local economies during
“National Small Business Weekend” the first Friday, Saturday
and Sunday of every month. Small Businesses employ more
than 60 million American workers and this initiative will help
highlight the products and services they offer and welcome new
customers.
2. Urge people to go out of their way to support the small
businesses in every city and state across the U.S.A. throughout
the year and during National Small Business Weekend. This
campaign will be directed to every type of local business.
3. Urge small businesses to feature special deals to customers
and promote the idea of National Small Business Weekend by
posting signs featuring special sale items they will be offering to
their customers.
4. Ask local stores to feature the selection of American Made
Products they offer during National Small Business Weekend
with the goal of gradually increasing the number and variety of
American made products.
5. Urge local businesses, business associations, and Chamber of
Commerce affiliates across the U.S.A. to participate in National
Small Business Weekend.
Spread the word and for more information visit:

Jobs and Dollars For America and Americans!
Every day I see some positive
results for America’s economy as
the American people spread the
word and become more united
behind the Buy American Made Campaign. Quite frankly the majority
of our difficulties are a result of America’s national elected leaders’
failure to properly address the loss of jobs and they were being
lost to outsourcing. Now as a result of poor leadership, 24 million
Americans need a job and America is 15 TRILLION dollars in debt.
As we listen to candidates seeking our votes they continue to
speak about more jobs for the American people, but, exactly what
type of jobs are they talking about? Until the JOBS issue is resolved,
millions of Americans will remain unemployed and America’s 15
trillion dollar debt will continue to rise.
I would also like to see every candidate seeking our votes to outline
their thoughts as to WHY businesses and jobs left America and offer
their plans in writing on ways they will get job creators together from
local, state and national businesses to create and maintain jobs in
the U.S.A.
When I promote the Buy American Made Campaign and invite you
to visit AmericanWorkersNeedYou.com or listen to American Workers
Radio, I’m making suggestions and urging you to support the jobs
we have in the U.S.A. However, our national elected officials are the
ones that need to authorize long-term NATIONAL tax incentives and
other benefits that will welcome more industries to America’s shores
so they can make a profit and employ American workers. By pressing
government officials to reduce taxes and regulations on private sector
businesses, we will help insure that businesses in the U.S.A. can be
profitable after paying production and operational costs, insurance
and the day-to-day expenses of doing business in America.
Spread the word and buy more American made products this week
than you did the week before, and help circulate more of our dollars
in the U.S.A.
A m e r i c a n W o r k e r s N e e d Yo u . c o m
When I discuss the need to reduce gas prices
with national elected leaders, they point out that
America is a free market economy where gas
prices rise or fall at the pump with little input
from elected officials. That is partially true,
but real leadership requires real solutions, so I
suggest raising taxes on foreign gas and reducing
taxes on companies that drill for gas on America's
shores. Additionally, I suggest that it be mandated that all gas drilled
in the U.S.A. be sold and used exclusively in the U.S.A. for the benefit
of the American people.
The objective of American Workers Need You and American
Workers Radio is to support America's economy and American
jobs, and work toward America being energy self-sufficient as it
was 40 years ago. Once imported products and high energy costs
overpowered our ability to manufacture competitive products in the
U.S.A., the imbalance should have been addressed immediately so
employment opportunities for the American people would not decline.
It may be time to promote a SPECIAL ENERGY COUNCIL with
representatives from every state to find ways to reduce energy costs.
These would be volunteer members of the news media and energy
related businesses that could discuss ways to reduce energy costs
and report what they find is holding America back from becoming
energy self-sufficient again.
I invite you to listen to live programs or rebroadcasts of American
Workers Radio from the front page of AmericanWorkersRadio.com.
We Will See Revitalization!
Congratulations to all who have been supporting the Buy
American Made Campaign and spreading the word about
AmericanWorkersNeedYou.com. Because of your ongoing public
and private discussions, the restoration of America's industries is
a growing concern of the American people and a positive sign for
America's future.
As more Americans go out of their way to support American
workers by looking at labels, voicing concerns to business owners
and store personnel, and by being more selective in what they
purchase, we see more positive possibilities to expand America's
industries.
Promoting efforts like National
Small Business Weekend the first
weekend of every month will add to
our efforts and encourage people to
support small local businesses who
employ more than 60 million people
in the U.S.A. Since no one can tell us
how to spend our money, the choices
we make at the cash register WILL
help change America's economy and
our future.
As discussed on American
Workers Radio, people want
employment opportunities expanded
across the U.S.A. and they don't want to hear what happened in the
past, but want to hear ways we can work together to get POSITIVE
RESULTS for people seeking employment right now. People want
to be able to support themselves and they see that employment
opportunities are best accomplished by America's private sector
businesses expanding their product lines to meet the demands of
customers.
We will see the revitalization of America's industries IF we
remain united and promote the Buy American Made Campaign
and the efforts outlined on: AmericanWorkersNeedYou.com,
AmericanWorkersRadio.com, and
NationalSmallBusinessWeekend.com.

Chester Grabowski
Editor-Emeritus
Post Eagle (1925-2012)
Always first to fight for the good name of
Polish Americans and Poland, coming to the
defense of Poland and her people, Chester
Grabowski, Editor and Publisher of The Post
Eagle newspaper, died on April 25, 2012, just
seven months before the Post Eagle’s 50th
Anniversary.
David Kocieniewski, 49, of the New York Times
was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory
Reporting, for a series on corporate tax evasion
called “But Nobody Pays That.” The West Seneca,
NY native, who began working at the Times in
1995, said he became a business reporter in 2010,
“intrigued by this tax beat that they had been
struggling to fill for two years.”
His reporting uncovered a vast array of tax loopholes and subsidies
afforded to large enterprise. Kocieniewski’s editor on the series,
Winnie O’Kelly, said “the lead story was about something that didn’t
happen. G.E. didn’t pay taxes.”
Chester was born on July 13, 1925 in
Harrison NJ, to parents who emigrated from Poland.
He earned a B.S. Degree from Seton Hall University; he attended
John Marshall Law School and earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence at
Seton Hall Law School. He also attended Alliance College for special
folk summer courses.

He was a former member of the Matusz Polish Folk Dance Group
and a member of various singing societies.
Chester was also a member of the Kosciuszko Foundation,
Association of the Sons of Poland, Polish National Alliance, Polish
University Club of New Jersey, Polish National Union, and founder of
The Polonians Inc. to name a few.
Chester was fluent in Polish, and acted as an interpreter in the
New Jersey courts.
Due to the lack of representation and recognition of the Polish
people in the mass media, Chet Grabowski decided to dedicate his
life to this cause. Taking a brave stand, Mr. Grabowski in 1963,
launched his dream, THE POST EAGLE, a Polish American weekly
newspaper. Through this paper he fought for Polish recognition
in all areas of endeavor very successfully. Chester dedicated the
newspaper to the preservation of the Polish heritage and culture in
the U.S., the recognition for all Americans of Polish descent, and
promoting good citizenship in our country.

He improved people-to-people contacts between Poles and
Americans when Poland was under Communist control. Facilitating
the adoption of Polish babies by American couples, encouraging
Americans to study medicine in Poland, and raising money to build
the Polish Mothers’ Memorial Hospital in Lodz, Poland, all helped to
promote goodwill between the American and the Polish people.
Over nearly five decades Grabowski’s forceful editorials in THE
POST EAGLE admonished Polish Americans for their passivity
on the American scene. He spearheaded the campaign to boycott
companies which sponsored television programs that broadcast
defamatory comments, often in the form of so-called jokes, about
Poland and the Poles. He also encouraged Polish Americans to seek
elective and appointed governmental offices, to work for the election
of pro-Polish candidates, and to influence American public opinion in
favor of Poland.
In addition to lecturing at American colleges and universities on
United States relations with Poland, Grabowski was the host of a
60 minutes’ television program, “THE POLONIAN HOUR”, which
included interviews with top entertainers and political figures. He
also ran his own radio show over WHBI in 1964.
He also appeared on numerous television shows which included
the Joe Franklin and Allan Burke Shows, also a Polish talk show in
Warsaw, Poland while touring there.

He met with United States Presidents Nixon, Carter, and Reagan,
as well as presidential candidates Senator Teddy Kennedy and
Senator Barry Goldwater. He particularly cherished photos of his
numerous visits with his Holiness Pope John Paul II in Rome. King
Faisal of Saudi Arabia, General Wojciech Jaruzelski, Lech Walesa
and several other world leaders talked with Grabowski over his long
career.

He enjoyed his friendships with Polish entertainers such as Bobby
Vinton, Stephanie Powers, Ted Konopka, Loretta Swit, Liberace, just
to name a few.
He was a frequent visitor to Poland, the land of his parents.
In politics, Mr. Grabowski was a candidate both for Congress
and for Governor of New Jersey, as well as state coordinator for the
Presidential candidates of both Barry Goldwater and Richard Nixon.
But no medal, no amount of recognition or kudos, will come
close to the love and gratitude he engendered with those who knew
him best. Listing his affiliations and distinctions is a dry way of
acknowledging his achievements, but a necessary one. However,
composing a list of the people he touched in a positive way would fill
many volumes and still fall far short of illuminating the nobility of
his spirit. Let us say that from time to time we are privileged to meet
such a man. Requiescat in pace.
Chester Grabowski is survived by his former wife Jean (Garb)
Grabowski, his loving children Chris, Ray, Matt, Val, Alex, his
granddaughter Angelique, his nieces and nephews, and his many
friends including Johnny O’Rourke.
