Work–life balance and fit@work are today’s problem. Short on time and high on stress is causing the rising pressure
on employee’s bodies and minds in the modern working environment. Corporations are investing more money each
year in the effort to help their employees stay healthy and fit. Not many of them have learned that it is more
economical for their business to help their employees stay healthy than to pay the rising medical costs when they
become ill. While many companies subsidize gym memberships, employees’ wellness isn’t only about the fitness
studio incentive – it’s about developing team wellness programs at working place in the office environment.
TaijiZen is a modern version of traditional Chinese Taichi concept, developed as business idea under umbrella of Jet
Li and Jack Ma- styled to suit modern way of life and demands of the working people facing daily stress in life. It is
not only fitness program, benefits of this concept is routed in traditional Chinese wisdom of balance in physical
wellness and mental fitness – meditation in motion. Because of its graceful appearance, it combines physical
movement with Chi circulation, breathing, and stretching techniques. Based upon the 3000 year old Chinese
philosophies of Ying & Yang and the Five Elements, TaijiZen promotes health, well-being and longevity. It can be
referred as fountain of youth- it tackles secret of unending youth, health and vitality through increased energy,
reduced stress, improved blood circulation, health and longevity, it offers ability to relax on a deeper level, balancing,
breathing, mind focus, coordination and concentration.
The special focus in the workshop will be given on importance of life balance and why employees’ wellbeing is
becoming company’s responsibility. How TaijiZen can help and what is the true power of this marital art will be
demonstrated by senior certified TaijiZen trainer Xian Lin. Workshop participants are invited to take a journey
together with Xian Lin and his team in experiencing what is modern TaijiZen about and how it can be introduced as
wellness program into the companies.

CDIS Family Day
Every Spring, CDIS holds an “International Family Day” event. This event has become a
traditional holiday for the expatriate families in Chengdu. This year, it is coordinated by our
Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and will be held on May 9th (Saturday) from 10am- 4pm at
our school. The theme of this event is “Run, Pandas!” Based on families, we will plan a series
of sports and games. The goal is to encourage our students to help and care for each other in
a team, develop their sense of persistence and organization, and facilitate greater
communication between the school and the families. Meanwhile, we will also organize some
charity events to guide our kids to serve the community.
