Direct drive WPT with EMG.

THE ESSENCE OF THE INNOVATION
There are the technical decisions for WPT’s, affording
efficient energy transformation of the low potential wind
flow energy to the electric energy, based on the usage
of EMG, allowing to regulate the electromagnetic torque
on the generator’s shift in the extended range of rotation
speeds, including the areas with the annual average
wind speed at 3-6 m/s
Wind rotor, adapted to the low potential wind flow
The synchronous electric generator with a slotless
designed stator that allows to lower starting torque at
about 10 times
Electronic power converter (EPC) for adjusting the
shaft torque and increasing the efficiency coefficient of
EMG in the extended rotation speed range
Normalized power output of WPT with EMG

CALCULATION PROCEDURE
We analyzed about 100 known wind rotor profiles and performed optimization calculations
for 16 options of profile
We selected 2 prototypes of wind rotors – output coefficient is 0,48-0,49 at the wind speed of 4-7 m/s.
We created the calculation method

THE PROJECT REALIZATION
THE RESULTS OF STAGE 1 OF THE PROJECT (APRIL-DECEMBER 2015)
We designed, created and tested:
•The prototype of the electronic machine generator with an electronic power converter
• The wind rotor prototype with diameter of 0.8 m.
We created bench for simulating the operation of the wind turbine based on the test bench for electrical
motors (certificate № 432-3582-15 "TEST-S.-Petersburg").
We designed a WPT with EMG, with rated wind speed at 6.5 m/s.
We also created a test field for wind monitoring and full-scale testing of WPT with EMG.
We file an international application PCT/RU2015/000918 from 12.23.2015, the patent for the invention
“Power output take system of a wind motor”
PLAN FOR STAGE 2 OF THE PROJECT (JANUARY-SEPTEMBER 2016)
Producing the prototype of WPT with EMG of 2 kW capacity.
Conducting full-scale tests of WPT with EMG according IEC 61400-12-1: 2005, certified experts DNV GL
(http://www.dnvgl.com/about-dnvgl/default.aspx).
The development of the commercial version of the Product with power output from 0.5 to 30 kW.
Development of design documentation of pilot production and technology pilot production.
