We have seen others try to imitate the Tommy Gun's
experience, but in my opinion these will never
compare, because Tommy Gun's can't be duplicated,
especially in the same detail, with all the bells and
whistles. From the flooring to the counters, the brick
work and bold colour schemes, plus in-mirror
televisions and self-check queuing system, Tommy
Gun's dominates and totally nails the men's
barbershop experience.

My experience as a new franchise owner is that the
concept is exactly what we were promised. We have
a beautiful location and the consumer response has
been very, very good. We are pleased that growth is
already happening. As a Franchisee I feel very much
part of a greater team and this corporation has a
family feel to it. It's very encouraging to know you
can do business with people who want to do
business with you. There definitely is a niche in this
market for men's barbering, especially the straight
razor shave.
We are very pleased with the Tommy Gun's concept
and its popularity. You know you have a great system
when the customers are very happy to be there and
are finding ways to come back as often as they can.
For this reason and the successes we've had in our
short time as owners, we'll be taking on another
location as soon as the opportunity arises.

The process of becoming Tommy Gun’s
Original Barbershop’s next franchise owner
is simple. The first step is to visit our
website at tommyguns.com and fill out the
initial Franchise Application Form.
Once you have submitted your application
form, a Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop
representative will contact you to conduct
a preliminary interview and in applicable
regions, provide you with the Tommy Gun’s
disclosure documents.
Throughout the qualification process, you
will meet and have interviews with various
levels of representatives of the Tommy
Gun’s organization to ensure that you will
be well suited to operate a successful
Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop
franchise.

How much unencumbered capital is
required for a Tommy Gun's
franchise?
In order to qualify for a Tommy Gun's franchise,
applicants must have access to a minimum of
$150,000, in addition to bank financing. As an
example, Franchisees may use a home equity
line of credit to fund the $150,000 required.
What are the hours of operation?
Everything is
designed
specifically for him.
Tommy Gun's franchises located inside major
regional shopping centres must follow mall
hours. Franchises that are located in big box
power centres are, as a minimum, open Monday
to Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, and
Sunday from 11am-6pm.
How do stores purchase inventory?
Most products are purchased directly through
Chatters Distribution.

What income can a Franchisee
expect to earn?
The level of income that a Franchisee earns is
dependent on a number of factors, including the
Franchisee's level of involvement in the
operation, sales performance, cost controls, fixed
overhead, location and market. Throughout the
franchising process, each candidate will have the
opportunity to speak with existing franchisees
who will be able to share their experience with
them.
Can a Franchisee own more than
one location?
Yes, we encourage multi-unit franchise owners.
The decision to allow subsequent locations is
based on a number of factors including the
Franchisee's operational record and financial
support.
Is there a discount on multiple
locations?
Yes, the initial franchise fee is reduced by 33% to
$20,000 for additional locations.

Do I need to have experience
in the barbershop industry?
No. Tommy Gun's provides a
full training program and our franchise
concept is based on fundamental business
principles. We're looking for hard
working individuals with strong team
building and customer service skills.
Who determines the right location?
Tommy Gun's franchising and leasing
department source the locations. In the process,
additional research is done including
consideration of market demographics and
success of other retailers in the trading area.
Who manages the development of
my store?
Store development including design,
construction, inventory and equipping the store is
all handled by Tommy Gun's corporate head
office.
Who holds the lease for the
premises?
Tommy Gun's holds all head leases and each
Franchisee subleases directly from Tommy Gun's.
What ongoing support is provided?
When you invest in a Tommy Gun's franchise,
you join a team of experienced business
operators with a track record of great success in
the hair care industry. This background, together
with our infrastructure, allows us to offer a
dedicated support network for our Franchisees.
Our head office team offers support on
marketing, human resources, operations,
information technology, further education,
manufacturer relations and countless combined
years of industry experience.
Tommy Gun's Franchisees will also have secure
access to an internal franchisee-only intranet site
with convenient tools and resources to support
them in successfully operating their franchise.
What is the Franchise Fee?
The initial Franchise Fee is $30,000.
What are the royalties?
Royalties are 6% of total gross sales.
What is the Advertising Fee?
The advertising fee is 3% of total gross sales. It is
collected and placed into a separately accounted
and managed advertising fund.
What are the total costs involved in
opening a Tommy Gun's?
Costs to open an individual location will vary
depending on a number of factors, including
without limitation, size of the premises, what
type of centre the premises are located in, and
costs of materials and tradesmen in the market
where the premises are located. Store opening
costs start in the low $300,000's and up.
Does Tommy Gun's provide
assistance in securing financing?
In Canada, most of our Franchisees secure
financing through the Canada Small Business
Loan program. This Government Guaranteed
Loan program is available through most of the
major chartered banks. For those who qualify,
financing can typically be secured for
approximately 80% of the costs of leasehold
improvements, fixtures and equipment. Typically
these loans are at an interest rate of Prime +3%
with a term/amortization of five years.
Franchisees deal directly with their bank to
secure financing. Tommy Gun's can help provide
Tommy Gun's offers the ultimate levels of
convenience through its state-of-the-art
queuing system. When arriving at the
barbershop, customers enter their information
into an easy to use check-in terminal that
places their name in the queuing line for their
service. The order of the queue is displayed
on 60” flat screen TVs that show estimated
wait times.
Customers are given timing options during the
check-in process that will provide them
notifications via SMS text messages to update
them on when they are nearing the top of the
queue. This provides the customer the
flexibility to either stay at the barbershop and
enjoy the atmosphere, or leave and receive a
text when their stylist becomes available. This
ensures that they will never lose their place in
the queue. This level of convenience creates a
hassle-free environment for men to get their
services done without the inconvenience of
making and keeping an appointment.
Tommy Gun's concept is all about catering to
the male customer. In addition to the cool
atmosphere, Tommy Gun's has hi-tech inmirror televisions, iPads for surfing and arcade
games. This is ideal for the guys who want to
relax, keep up with their sports or go online.
As well, each haircut appointment includes a
complimentary beverage and scalp massage.
The ultimate barbershop experience for guys
includes special detailing options like hot
shaves and neck shaves.
The retro design of the custom made,
exclusive to Tommy Gun’s, red barber chair
adds a certain flair to the barbershop. Tommy
Gun's also offers an extensive selection of
men's retail products by American Crew,
Redken, Nioxin, Paul Mitchell and more. The
retail area carries a specialized collection of
gifts and accessories including Tommy Gun's
own product lines such as shirts, shaving kits
and more.
