EXPERT ADVICE
When installing a winch, Lewmar
recommends the winch must be mounted
on a flat surface and that the rope enters
the drum at an angle of 5° to 10° to the
base axis of the winch. This angle can be
achieved by using a base wedge when
mounting the winch.
WAVE SPRING JAW & STRIPPER RING
The integrated investment cast stainless steel feeder arm
covers the winch, and does not create a rope trap above the
wavespring jaws.
The feeder arm position can be adjusted to smoothly feed the
rope out of the jaws and into the cockpit, while the proven
stripper ring goes round the WaveSpring, Lewmar’s unique
design ensures you cannot snag the loose rope cover.

The Silversteer hydraulic steering system
is designed for use on high performance
boats such as sports ribs.
The helm pump operates at a higher
pressure than the standard helms.
(Relief valve setting at 105 bar (1500psi)
instead of 70 bar (1000psi) on the
standard helms).
Adjustable 45º stainless steel helm pump
fittings and Kevlar stranded high pressure
hoses can be supplied in a range of
lengths to make the connections between
the helm and cylinder.
The combination of the higher pressure
helm pump and technical features on the
UC128-SVS cylinder make the system
particularly fast and stress resistant.

For almost every combination of metals likely to be found at a mooring
the 1.1V maximum is sufficient to block corroding currents. When the
voltage at the earth connection is greater than 1.1V, current is allowed to
flow through the galvanic isolator potentially corroding submerged metals
on the boat. In this situation the shore power should be disconnected to
avoid hull corrosion.
D.C. galvanic current can also be caused by other shore earth
connections such as telephone & cable TV.
