2016 STEWARDSIP DAYS
Those Needing Prayer
The Diocese of Bismarck will be hosting the 2016
Stewardship Days on April 22 and 23 at the Ramkota
Hotel in Bismarck! This conference is not only for
parishes that have stewardship committees, but also
for individuals who want to learn more about living a
‘stewardship way of life,’ and how we as parishioners
can better understand living our daily lives as good
stewards. Anyone from our parishes are invited to attend this conference. If this is something you are interested in attending please contact the parish office at
254-4588.
Please pray for the following individuals who are in need of God’s grace. We ask
God to graciously give them what He knows they most need and what is best for
them in their particular circumstance. Thank you for your prayer and concern for
our brothers and sisters who are dear to Jesus.
We ask that you please help us keep our parish family prayer list updated. When we
receive a prayer request, the name of the individual in need of our prayers will be printed
here in the bulletin for one month. If we are not informed that it is desired they stay on
this list longer, their name will be removed. St. Anthony Office 254-4588.

in your life.
2. Give God all of your fears and worries.
3. Offer up the suffering and disappointments of your
experience.
4. Do something nice for someone.
5. Be a forgiving person. Let go of anger and resentments

springtime.
7. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Learn to laugh at
yourself.
8. Find ways to show family members and friends how
much you appreciate them.

Quotes from the Saints ~ Do not worry about anything. Do the
little you can. You can be sure that you will make mistakes again,
but you should never stop being happy and peaceful. You will
see that, by falling into mistakes and rising again, we shall go to
heaven.

Sunday Readings and Backgrounds
Gospel : John 21:1-19
Jesus stepped forward, took the bread and gave it
to them, and did the same with the fish.
• After the resurrection, the disciples returned to
their homes in Galilee and to their former occupation of fishing.
• Suddenly, the appearance of the Risen Christ
transforms all aspects of the disciples’ lives.
• In the final chapter of today’s Gospel, Peter’s
three denials of Jesus are matched by Jesus’
threefold commission to take care of his flock.
3 sunday of Easter
rd
Week of April 10, 2016
Reading I : Acts 5:27-32, 40b-41
We are all witnesses to all this.
• The trial of the disciples described in Acts was
their second trial before the Sanhedrin (the highest court of justice in Jerusalem).
• The disciples were arrested for disobeying the
order to never speak in Jesus’ name again.
• In today’s passage, the order not to speak of Jesus
is repeated by the Sanhedrin.
Stewardship Thought
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells Peter again and again,
“If you love Me, feed my sheep.” He says the same to
each of us, “If you love Me, use the gifts I have given
you to serve your brothers and sisters.”
• Christian stewardship provided a spirituality that you
can take home from church, exercise at work, and express through personal involvement in the community
and the Church.
• Does your wife have a Will? In the event of a common disaster, the courts will look to your wife’s Will in
the distribution of your estate. Be prepared; get her will
written.
Reading II : Revelation 5:11-14
The Lamb that was sacrificed is worthy to be
given power, wealth, glory, and blessing.
• The vision from Revelation presents the heavenly
witness to the Risen Christ.
• The hymn of praise begins with the voice of angels, all living creatures, and the elders.
• The response comes from every creature in
heaven and on earth, everything in the universe.

VOCATIONS
JAMBOREE
was held at the
University of Mary
March 30-31.
One of the booths represented was the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia from Nashville, Tenn.,
in which Sister Cecilia Anne, OP, pictured
above, is visiting with attendees of the Jamboree. She is the sister of Kimberly (Mrs. James)
Fries.
5
22 of our youth and 10 adults attended the event on
Wednesday, March 31. There were over 50 booths of various vocations and religious communities from around the
country, and other ministries such as the Knights of Columbus, Young Disicples Apostolate and Saint Gianna’s
Maternity Home.
In the evening, we had the honor of hearing Bishop
Robert Barron of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. (See
his website: wordonfire.com and his many talks on YouTube). The University of Mary bestowed upon Bishop
Barron the University’s prestigious Lumen Vitae Medal.
