Brazos River Fly Fishing
Brazos River Ranch is home to some of the best dry fly action in the state.
This ranch offers fly fishing enthusiasts access to over 3.7 miles of the headwaters of the legendary
Brazos River. The river is famous for producing first class wild brook, rainbows, cuttbows and
cutthroat trout. The ranch is also home to several miles of tributary waters
sitting on top of high alpine meadows perfectly suited for both the beginner and
experienced angler.
In Ti Piper's book, Fishing in New Mexico, he says, "...In The Brazos box, above
Corkin's Lodge and the Brazos River meadows, in the high country, offers
fantastic wild trout fishing all on private land. There are browns, brook trout,
rainbows and cutthroats in the headwater creeks. In terms of wild populations
of naturally reproducing trout, the upper Brazos nurtures the best trout fishery in the state, all on
private land."

Brazos River Ranch Hunting
The property lies thirty miles from pavement and contains one of the largest free-ranging elk herds in
the state, producing quality bulls year after year.
The Brazos River Ranch is perfectly nestled within the beauty of the majestic New Mexico
Rockies. Clear sparkling springs, high alpine meadows, shimmering canopies of aspen trees, dense
spruce forests and mountain peaks...all under the deep blue New
Mexico sky. One might argue that elk hunting doesn't get much better
than this. Brazos River Ranch has maintained for the life of the ranch a 100%
shooting opportunity on 5x5 bull elk with a 90% success rate.
Other hunting opportunities include: Mule Deer, Black Bear,
Mountain Lion and Blue Grouse! Although, not currently permitted to hunt in this unit; Antelope also
make Brazos River Ranch a home during the summer months.

Broker’s Comments
In my 22 years of selling ranch and recreational real estate in New Mexico, the Brazos River Ranch is,
without a doubt, the closest thing to an outdoor enthusiast paradise that I have ever run across. The
ranch is a perfect habitat or home to every wildlife species indigenous to the area. I have never been on
a piece of property of this size in the state of New Mexico that has more live water--including The
Brazos River and tributaries. The aquatic potential is endless.
With the immaculately maintained infrastructure, the opportunity exists to
continue the current successful commercial hunting and fishing business or
easily turn it into your own private wildlife preserve; either way, one can
immediately begin to enjoy the ranch.
Whether you want to hike, fish, hunt, or simply observe the wildlife in this pristine, private setting; I
believe that the opportunities at the Brazos River Ranch are unlimited.
