Course A classic style 25.13 mile out and back. This is a challenging course! Easy flats, a long steady climb, and some puncher climbs before and after the turnaround, then downhill and flat to the finish…Road conditions vary from excellent to good in a few spots. This is an open course with centerline rule STRICTLY enforced for the entire course. You can find a course profile and details at www.sambarn.com by April 1st. We will also load the course to Garmin Connect and STRAVA. Keyword “2015 Bakersfield districts course” for both. Directions/Parking From Hwy. 99 exit Hwy 58 East. Proceed east to Towerline Rd. turn left (North) on Towerline Rd. to Bena Road. Turn right to race parking. PLEASE PARK “IN” and NOT parallel with the road. This will allow for more parking. Parking is permitted on the North or South side of Bena Rd. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP THE ROADWAY CLEAR AND PARK AS FAR OFF THE ROAD AS YOU CAN! Registration/Contact Info. Add $5 for race day registration Online entry is available at www.usacycling.org. Online registration closes Thursday April 16th. at 11:59pm. If you register ONLINE we will have your waiver filled out and ready at registration…sign it and collect your number. Guidelines for championship race Per USAC rules, here are the requirements to enter any SCNCA Championship event: o
You must have an annual USAC license. You cannot enter with a one-­‐day license for the masters championships. You cannot enter with a foreign license. o
Out of district riders and members of Continental teams with a valid USAC license ARE welcome to race, but are not eligible for any purse, jersey or medals. o
You must be a USA Citizen or a Permanent Resident. If your license has an "N" for Citizen, you will be not be able to register for the race. Registration opens at 5:45am race day and will be located at the start finish area. Registration will close 15 minutes prior to each race start. CATEGORIES AND INFO. Feed Zone #1 WATCH FOR SNAKES…No kidding. You may feed on the finish hill WITHIN the signed feed zone start and end area. YOU CAN ONLY ACCESS THIS FEED ZONE BY FOOT OR BIKE, no vehicles. Distance from your car to the hill can range from ¼ mi to 1.5 mi. Pick up your bottles and trash! Feed Zone #2 WATCH FOR SNAKES… No kidding. To get to the 2nd. feed zone go back to Towerline Rd. and back onto Hwy 58 EAST. Exit Hwy. 223 towards Arvin. Turn right onto Bena Rd. and go UNDER Hwy 58 to the feed zone signs. DO NOT GO ONTO THE COURSE VIA THE START FINISH AND DO NOT GO THRU THE FEED ZONE ONTO THE COURSE! PICK UP YOUR BOTTLES AND TRASH!! NO NEUTRAL FEEDS…Be prepared to take care of yourself with bottles and hydration! NO private follow vehicles, CHP rules. Joining other races, receiving support, drafting or helping other riders in other categories is not allowed! THERE ARE NO WHEEL FOLLOW VEHICLES PER CHP! BE ADVISED! CARRY FLAT REPAIR ITEMS—
we will have 1 roving SAG truck if you need a ride back in Numbers are to be placed on the LEFT side and well pinned. Numbers should show well and be flat when in the “on the bike” position. No warming up on the course, bring a trainer. All USA Cycling rules apply.www.usacycling.org. Races run rain or shine. No refunds. This is an open course with centerline rule STRICTLY enforced for the entire course. Medical/first aid is located at registration as well as a medical tent at the Cal/Bodfish intersection. AWARDS AND PODIUMS Medals to the top 3 in each race along with prizes as listed. Podiums for each race will take place as soon as the results are final for that race.
