ROCKINGHAM COUNTY MIDDLE SCIENCE TEACHER SELECTED TO
PARTICIPATE IN AN EDUCATIONAL ADVENTURE ABROAD
Congratulations to William Toth, science teacher at Rockingham County Middle School, for being selected as one
of only 34 NC science educators to participate in an educational adventure abroad. This summer, Toth will experience the natural world like never before as part of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences’ Educators of
Excellence Institutes.
Toth will travel with 11 other NC science educators to Belize, Central America from July 20 to 28. Along with two
educators from Belize, the group will learn about surprising similarities between the ecologies of the tropics and their
own region of North Carolina. During this 21st annual trip, they will study birds, butterflies and other animals unique to
the tropics, and have the opportunity to explore a rain forest, Mayan ruins and a coral reef.
