Located just a stone’s throw from the Hotel with breath taking sea views, is the Arnold Palmer designed
Tralee Golf Club (1). This 18 hole links course has a famed reputation worldwide, and with views of the
Atlantic and white sandy beaches from almost every hole, Tralee earns rave reviews from all who play it.
North Kerry is also home to Ballybunion Golf Club (2) which boasts 2 separate and highly ranked
challenging links courses. The Old Course ranks as one of the world’s top 10 courses. The Cashen
course is growing in popularity and is ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world.
Deeper into the Wild Atlantic Way just west of Dingle sits Ceann Sibeál Golf Club (3).
Each hole is carved from the natural landscape of one of the most unspoiled parts of Europe,
including a winding ‘burn’ that twists and turns through the entire course.
Dooks Golf Club, (4) owned by its members was founded in 1889 and is one of the 5 oldest links in
Ireland. The charm, the atmosphere and the superb seaside setting of a truly traditional golf links
makes Dooks a golf experience that has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime.
Further south from the Hotel takes you to Waterville Golf Club (5). Over 100 years old, Waterville
is rated among the top 5 courses in Ireland and the top 20 links courses in the world.

Ballygarry House makes for an ideal base to explore the outdoors be it by
foot or by bike. The stunning area offers a choice of easy relaxed trails
such as Ballyseedy Woods adjacent to the hotel, or for the seasoned
walker explore the Kerry Camino with our special Kerry Camino Package.
Turn right upon leaving the hotel and continue just 600 mtrs to the end of the road you will enjoy the
calm and peace of 80 acres of natural woodland. Ballyseedy Wood (6) can be explored by foot or using
our complimentary onsite hotel bicycles. Perfect for an evening stroll or for the family to stretch the legs.
The Kerry Camino (7) takes you along a 57km Camino route, which is divided into three stages;
Tralee to Camp, Camp to Annascaul and finally Annascaul to Dingle. The Camino - inspired by
Spain’s Camino de Santiago - invites visitors to ‘walk in the footsteps of St. Brendan the Navigator’
and takes in breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way scenery. About 18km into this route you will come
across the ruins of Killelton Village which was once a stop for the stage coach on the way to Dingle.
To the west of Ballygarry House lies the majestic Brandon Mountain (8) which is
a must climb for the avid hiker. This the 2nd highest mountain in Ireland can be
accessed from the Cloghane village side or via Baile Breac on the Dingle side.
Carrauntoohil, (9) Ireland’s Highest mountain is a short 40mins from the hotel and is a strenuous
6hr + route via the Devils Ladder on the MacGillicuddy Reeks (10) starting from Cronin’s Yard.
Cycling the Wild Atlantic Way makes for one of the most breath taking ways to experience the route.

Base yourself at Ballygarry House and enjoy an exhilarating
experience at one of the many Blue Flag beaches in the area.
Be it surf lessons on Banna beach, or a visit to the diving
school in The Maharees, there is something for everyone.
Banna Beach (11) is a short 15 minute drive from the hotel and lessons here include
Sunset Surfing lessons to lessons tailored made for the novice. Kingdom Waves Surf
School operates both here and at Inch beach a 40 min drive from the hotel.
Fitzgibbons Waterworld Water Sports is located on the Dingle Peninsula in The
Maharees (12) a 20 minute drive from the hotel. This PADI approved center
offers an array of diving courses from beginners to the more experienced
instructor courses. They also offer surf lessons, kids camps and power boat outings.
Jamie Knoxx Water Sports (12) located also on the stunning sand spit of
The Maharees have specialist trainers in Wind Surfing, Kite Surfing
as well as Paddle Boarding. A great family day out.

Home to the National Folk Theatre of Ireland, Tralee is steeped in
cultural heritage. Ballygarry House is the perfect location to immerse
yourself in the culture and traditions along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Siamsa Tíre, The National Folk Theatre of Ireland (13) is a must visit for cultural enthusiasts.
Shows include Oileán which celebrates the Blasket Islands and Turas - an Irish journey
of music, dance and song. Located just 5 mins drive from the hotel.
Further west in the heart of the Gaeltacht community sits The Blasket Centre, (14) a fascinating
heritage centre and museum honouring the community who lived on the Blasket Islands
until 1953. The centre tells the story of Island life through a variety of means exhibitions, interactive displays, artefacts, audio visual presentations and artworks.
Travelling further south along the Wild Atlantic Way we come to The Skellig Experience (15) visitor
centre. A visit here allows you to experience many aspects of the off shore Skellig Islands in a custom
built building. You will enjoy an experience detailing Sceilg Mhichíl, the larger of the two islands
home to a sixth century Christian monastery perched at 160m above sea level also a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, as well as the more recent history of the Skellig Lighthouse since the 1820’s.
An Díseart (16) in Dingle town centre, described as ‘breath-taking’, ‘magnificent’ and ‘a national
treasure’, by some of its visitors, the building is home to a beautifully proportioned chapel
in which can be found twelve lancet windows created in 1924 by one of the foremost stained
glass artists of all time, Harry Clarke. The windows, along with the tranquil walled gardens,
first laid out in 1849, have become a popular attraction for the many visitors in Dingle.

The Kerry section of the Wild Atlantic Way has an abundance of fine food
producers and we are proud to use the finest of local ingredients from the best
of Artisan producers, including fish landed to Fenit Port as well as Lamb from
the Ring of Kerry and herbs from our very own herb garden. During your stay
why not venture to some of the foodie favourites of the area.
The local pastures of Kerry guarantee happy cows, who give delicious milk, which makes mouth
watering ice cream. To the North of the Hotel in Ballybunion, Sundaes Ice Cream Parlour is a
favourite of tourists and locals alike, or to the West in Dingle you will find Murphy’s Ice Cream
with mouth watering flavours such as carmelised brown bread, Dingle Gin and Irish Coffee!
Further along the Wild Atlantic Way close to the stunning Skellig Rocks is home to
Skelligs Chocolate (17). Colm and his team create chocolate masterpieces and you can
visit their factory as well as enjoying chocolate treats in their café.
Dingle town - voted 2014 Foodie Town of Ireland- is a mecca for food enthusiasts. From the Little
Cheese Shop near the Church to their very own brewery’s - yes they have two - Dingle Distillery and
Dingle Brewing Company - an amble around the town will be a feast of food and drink choices! Here
at Ballygarry House we stock both Tom Crean’s in bottle and draft as well as Dingle Gin and Vodka!
If you are touring the Ring of Kerry stop into The Strawberry Field Pancake Cottage
(18) just outside Molls Gap on the Sneem road where you can choose from
artisan coffee as well as sweet and savoury pancakes.

Staying at Ballygarry House places you within easy reach of some of the
most breath taking sites on the Wild Atlantic Way. Choose from the rugged
beauty of Slea head and the West, or to the South the world famous
Ring of Kerry - you can even explore everything in between!
If you are exploring the West then The Conor Pass (20) - Ireland’s highest pass - is the way to see it. The
views from here are breath taking and the decent into Dingle town will create memories to last a life
time. Slea head is a must visit - be sure and drive clockwise so you don’t have to keep pulling over!
You can also travel to Dingle via Annascaul the birth place of the Antarctic Explorer Tom Crean.
While touring the West take a trip to see Fungi, (21) who has been living in Dingle Bay
for over 30 years and treats day trippers to a display surrounding the boat, or if
the weather isn’t so good a trip to Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium is a must.
Dotted around the Ring of Kerry (22) there are a number of smaller villages well worth a visit.
To end your day why not park up and view the Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve - one of only
3 Gold Tier reserves on the planet. At St Finian’s Bay you will be able to view the night sky through
the naked eye and see constellations with many more stars than are shown on the usual sky maps.
The Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, Star Clusters and Nebula’s are some of the naked eye
wonders that can be seen without the aid of astronomical equipment or filters.
