Campus Morocco
Why Morocco?
Its a pivotal country at the crossroads of Europe and Africa, which offers
a strong contrast to business environment of OECD economies.
• An emerging country that has witnessed a stable economy marked by steady growth,
low inflation, and generally declining government debt, since 1999.
• WTO member since 1995
•Industrial development strategies and infrastructure improvements - most visibly
illustrated by a new port and free trade zone near Tangier - are improving Morocco's
competitiveness.
• It has signed several Free-Trade agreements : USA, European Union, etc…
• A free trade agreement with Canada is under discussion .

Why Morocco?
Improving Canadian business and cultural exchanges with Morocco
• Like Canada, Morocco is a full member of La Francophonie. Because of this, Canada has
close ties with Morocco, which is a significant source of immigration. The presence of
what Morocco estimates to be a community of more than 100,000 Moroccans in Canada
(it is the largest North African community in Canada) has become the strongest bond
between Canada and Morocco.
• Every year, nearly 3,000 young Moroccans come to study in Canadian colleges and
universities, traditionally in Quebec, but increasingly in other provinces and territories
as well.
• Trade activities are diversified, focusing not only on exporting goods and services to
Morocco and promoting investments in Canada and Morocco, but also establishing
numerous partnerships with teaching institutions and universities, and setting up
franchises and other activities within the scope of global value chains.
