“Painting is just another way of keeping a diary” quoted Pablo Picasso, the
well-known Spanish artist; and fashion is just another way of showcasing one’s
personality. As much as art inspired fashion, the new of seeing pioneered by
Picasso changed the art world forever and inspired the fashion community at
all times.
On Spring/Summer 2016, BONIA’s ingenious designer, Pepe Torres decided to
create the sequel of the fun of art from previous season and invites you to the
flashback of the most influential artist- Pablo Picasso.
From joyful Rose and gloomy Blue periods to the innovative Cubism, and
from the Surrealism depicted the tragedy of wars to the simple life of War
and Peace; Pepe Torres portraits the moments of Picasso’s life and his artistic
vision into BONIA’s edgy designs, bringing a chic contemporary twist onto its

THE LEGACY OF
PICASSO
Holding a burning passion within himself, Picasso, the legendary artist and amorous lover
as well as a sentimental man, constantly demonstrated his imagination and spoke his thoughts through art.
On Spring/Summer 2016,
BONIA conveys the views and beliefs, emotions and passions of Picasso through its contemporary
designed handbag collections that are meant for the trendsetters.
“If I don’t have blue, I use red.”
▲ 860189-201
From the life with Picasso to the life after Picasso, Françoise Gilot, the heroine of artistic love story, demonstrated her beauty and feistiness
in an artisan way. Stimulating by the romance of the Spanish artist and the French artist,
Pepe Torres embroidered the sketch of Gilot [860189-001] onto BONIA’s patch-work leather,
offering the beauty that hangs a smile on one’s face. Painted in Picasso’s favourite colours- blue and red, this mini leather satchel
accords you with the attractiveness of chivalrous lady.
The leitmotif of Picasso
Powerful and intense, passionate and strong are the labels that given to the zealous torero, also known
as bullfighter. Inspired by Picasso’s favourite and his personal passion, Pepe Torres set the torero sketch onto the sleek base of this
handbag [860189-201]. Harmonising the force of evocative torero with gentle shades of
blue and white; yet, hinting the victories and glories with golden studs, this novelty handbag demonstrates the passion of the talented
and artistic womaniser.

Life of
A Great Artist
“Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso.”
From a relatively poor student to the great master
of art, Picasso, the talented and inventive artist’s life
influenced by his art, while the art revolved with his life.
From critics to compliments, and from joys to sorrows,
BONIA presents the changes of Picasso’s life that
inspired its Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
Inspired by Picasso’s trip to Spain during his heavyhearted period of life, the designer dyed its Nappa
leather clutch [886237-002-95] exclusively in brown,
indicating the gloominess and dreariness that shaded
Picasso’s paintings. The embellishment of golden
hardware suggests the enjoyable moment Picasso
shared with Carlos Casagemas, his close friend; this
clutch signifies the Blue period of Picasso.
It’s nothing like anyone else had ever done before! The
leather messenger bag [086237-003-95] is dyed with
brownish monochrome colours. Decorated with grain
textured and bordered with weave patterns, it brings
out the bold appeal of analytic cubism that Picasso
developed with Georges Braque.
▲ 888800-0044
A new philosophical and cultural movement; BONIA’s
designer interprets the symbolism of renowned Guernica
painting with its practical leather backpack [086238003-98]. Coloured in cauldron black that suggests the
emotion breakdowns from chaotic war, the smooth
leather backpack also signifies one’s strength in mind
which motivated one to move on.
▲ 08807-2055
Sketched the bold stripes of brown onto its grey
coloured Nappa leather, this document bag [886239004-98] drew its inspiration from Chicago Picasso, which
also known as The Picasso. Mysterious and unexplained,
the designers infused the emotion of this recognisable
landmark into its practical document bag with laptop
compartment, unleashing the enigmatic charm in you.
▲ 08807-2054
Art, the creativity and vision of an artist
Art does not only demonstrate the creativity of a painter, but also the vision of an artist; BONIA’s
designers applied the artistic vision and bold approach of Picasso onto its Spring/Summer 2016
menswear collection, bringing back the inspiration of Cubism as well as the philosophical and cultural
movement of Surrealism that once stirred the community.
The designer featured the pastel blue on its comfortable cotton-made business shirt [888800-0044],
canvassing the hardest moment of Picasso, which appears to be the rising career of the innovative
artist. Overlapping the plain white collar with light blue collar, the unique collar accords you with the
magnetism of a real sophisticated gentleman.
▲ 08810-1823
▲ 886237-002-95
Inspired by Guernica, a mural known as the Picasso’s masterpiece and one of the most moving
paintings in history; this royal oxford cotton-made casual shirt [08807-2055] used the palette of grey,
black and white of Guernica. The greyscale of its sophisticated shirt adorned with asymmetrical plaid,
finishing the artistry of Picasso with modern approach.
Strong bright bands of colours are superbly controlled by the contrasted dynamic shades of blue and
yellow striations on a white canvas; this royal oxford cotton-made short sleeve casual shirt [08807-2054]
projects the element of Le Reve (English: The Dream), creating a sense of Cubism that equals to the new
definition of art which introduced by Picasso.
▲ 08810-1825
Drawing the elements of L’atelier (English: The Studio), these polo shirts [08810-1823, 08810-1825] shared
the vivid palette with geometries that capture attention to a conspicuous and authoritative finishing of
L’atelier. Completely made of cotton interlock, these polo shirts bring you the utmost comfort like the
unparalleled magnitude of L’atelier.
Painted the mix cotton-made corduroy jacket [888836-0002] with neutral colours of brown, grey or
khakis, this slim fit corduroy jacket suggests the sepia hues of Cubism, finishing the elegant piece with
relaxedness of autumn and gracefulness of vintage. The vertical linear formed on its smooth fabric
encircles you with the unparalleled magnetism of Picasso.

The tales of
the women and
inspiration of Picasso
The story of dark and light
Surrealism is an imaginative style of art introduced by Picasso which
embodied the despair of world’s chaos while War and Peace, the final
theme of BONIA’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, suggesting the later life
of Picasso.
Sneakers are known to be comfortable footwear for a relaxing day. Made
of calf leather and microfiber, these sneakers [08576-8008, 08576-8009]
feature the soothing colour combination of natural brown and heavenly
white and are adorned with spotted leather which suggests the spark of
happiness in Picasso’s life after the chaos.
Just like the painter painted the world’s dark side, BONIA creates a
reflection of such rigorous period with its latest men’s footwear. Black
leather with spots, these slip-on shoes [08576-0119] bear a strong
resemblance of fire windstorm in the dark; while the calf leather-made
shoes [08620-0009] bear a faint resemblance of dauntless soldiers and their
armours, which are meant to protect lives.
Sometimes fashion is complex and sometimes, it is just simple. BONIA’s brand new
ladies’ footwear collection tells the simplicity of art that touches one’s heart and the
tales of the women speak volumes about Picasso as well as his art, from a period to
another.
Upbeat and independent, these state-of-the-art oxfords [08318-0012K] reflect the
nature of Fernande Olivier, the statuesque artist and the It Girl of Parisian avant-garde
as well as the first great love of Picasso. Just like the famous artist with gifted talents,
these leather and denim-made oxfords offer a dual-way to wear- as comfy mules or
classic oxfords.
Young and gentle, these wedges [08315-0037W] are a reminiscent of Marcelle
Humbert, the elegant lady which featured in Cubist painting named Ma Jolie (English:
My Pretty Girl). Applying the element of love declaration from Picasso to this young
lady that left a mark on his life, these light-weighted wedges put the limelight on its
weaved upper straps that bounded by genuine leather.
Jovial and bright, these flats [08316-0013B] bear the resemblance of Marie-Thérèse
Walter, the greatest muse and longtime lover of Picasso. Beautifying the sheep leathermade casual flats with gaily colours and beige horizontal stripes, the trendy design of
these flats showcases the fun and loving traits of Picasso’s bemused inspiration.

the chequered pattern, the element of harlequin’s
garment; Sonia Collection- Rose and Blue [860193104] tells the changes of Picasso’s life, from the
despair to the love-blossoming time. While the
somber tones indicate the daunting Blue period, the
cheery hues mark the beginning of an artist’s stylistic
experiments with primitivism, which also known as the
Rose period.
Cubism is one of the most influential visual art styles
that created by Picasso; and contrast is one of
the most conspicuous elements of Cubism. Boldly
decorated the genuine leather with handmade
cross-stitching, Sonia Collection- Stitches [860193002] is adorned with the hardware of BONIA’s
trunk, showcasing the elegance of BONIA and the
impeccable artistry of Picasso.
Just as creative as a French painter, Françoise Gilot

dresses, Pepe Torres stitched the florets onto the fine
leather of Sonia collection by hand, emphasising the
beauty and festiness of Picasso's artistic lover through
BONIA’s artisan heritage.
Inspired by the pacifying atmosphere of grandly
eccentric Villa La Californie, this Sonia CollectionDoves [860193-103] put the enchanting views from
the villa which Picasso once lived in onto its iconic

“One of the leading causes of belly fat, besides gender and genetic, is increased insulin resistance.” said
Tara Zewar, Fitness Development Coach Celebrity Fitness.
Insulin is a hormone that enables cells to absorb glucose in the liver, muscles and fat tissue. When
carbohydrate-rich foods are consumed, insulin is secreted to take glucose from the food to the muscles for
energy. Insulin is produced within the body in order to remove excessive glucose in the blood and regulate
