Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope that everyone is doing well and by this
week I imagine our grade school and high school
students will all be back in school for another
academic year. Our school at Sts.Peter and Paul
began August 11th but I believe that some of the
public schools will begin this week. For those who
attend public schools I hope that you have all
registered for our religious formation classes which
will start September 13th and 14th this year. We want
all of the students from kindergarten to twelfth grade
enrolled in our catechism classes even if they have
already received their First Holy Communion and
Confirmation. Registrations forms are usually kept
in the Vestibule of the Church or are available at
Mrs. Campbell’s office or the parish office. What
we do not want is for everyone to show up on the
first day of catechism classes not having registered
beforehand because it causes too much confusion on
the first day of classes. We also need to know
beforehand how many books to order and how many
catechists we need. For all of these reasons we need
everyone to register weeks before the actual start of
the classes.
Parish Mission
I would like to announce that we will have a
Parish Mission beginning the weekend of September
10th and 11th. Father Jim Costigan CPM will be
here from Kentucky to conduct the Mission. He is a
Father of Mercy and I asked him in the Year of
Mercy to give us a Mission. He will focus
particularly on the Eucharist in the hopes of getting
more and more people to take an hour a week before
the Blessed Sacrament in the St.Toribio Romo
Chapel. Father Costigan will preach at all of the
weekend Masses (English and Spanish) and during
the week will celebrate the 7:00 p.m. Spanish Mass
and give an extended homily on one of the four
themes of the Mission: “Do Not Fear”, “The Best
Friend”, “To Watch One Hour”, and “To reconcile
for Communion”. In the mornings during the week
he will be confessing the children of our school. On
Tuesday and Wednesday evening he will address the
children and parents of the religious education
program. My hope is the Father Costigan will help
to renew the faith especially of our Hispanic
Community. But, the English speakers will also
August 21, 2016
benefit from the Mission at the weekend Masses as
Father Costigan will preach at those Masses too.
Feast of Our Lady
Tomorrow, August 22nd is celebrated in both
the Novus Ordo as well as the traditional calendar as
a Marian Feast. In the traditional calendar it is the
Feast of the Immaculate Heart while in the Novus
Ordo calendar it is the Feast of the Queenship of
Mary. As you know in Oklahoma City recently the
Satanist that celebrated the Black Mass also
desecrated a statue of the Blessed Mother. It would
be a wonderful act of reparation if everyone came to
Mass tomorrow and offered their Mass in reparation
for the sins committed against the Sacred Hearts of
Jesus and Mary. Our Masses for August 22nd are
at 7:00 a.m. in Latin, 8:30 a.m. in English, and 7:00
p.m. in Spanish. We Catholics should be outraged
at the horrible offense given to Almighty God
through the Satanic rituals and the desecration of
what we hold to be most dear and holy. Our Lady
of Fatima asked for the Five First Saturday devotion
as reparation for the sins committed against Her
Immaculate Heart. For years now we have been
celebrating the First Friday and First Saturday as
special days of reparation to the two Hearts of Jesus
and Mary. But, since the terrible blasphemy that
occurred in Oklahoma City happened on the great
Feast of the Assumption it seems only right that on
the Octave Day, August 22nd we should give Our
Blessed Mother and Her Divine Son a special tribute
of fidelity, love and reparation. Please come to
Mass tomorrow to pray in the spirit
Please pray for Erick as well as the other men
who are in the Diaconate formation program.
Have a great week everyone!!
Sincerely yours,
Father Timothy Davison

necesitamos saber antemano cuantos libros ordenar y
cuantas catequistas necesitamos.
Misión: “ No Teman”, “El Mejor Amigo”, “El Ver
Madre.
Sinceramente suyo,
Padre Timothy Davison
