Beforestartingtosetupthedisasterrecoverysystems,youneedtoconfigureyour
storagesettings.
2.1CreatethestoragepoolandiSCSILUN
ForthedetailabouthowtocreatestoragepoolandiSCSILUN,youcanrefertothe
ES1640dcusermanual.Astoragepool,Pool1iscreatedoncontrollerSCAwith
RAID10typeasbelow.
TherearefourLUNscreatedandattachedtotheiSCSItarget.
- vdi_0isusedforstoringyourvirtualmachines(VMs).
- placeholderisusedforVMwareSRM.

2.2Connectingstoragefromtheservers
TherecommendedconnectionfromtheservertothestorageistouseMultipathI/O
(MPIO).Pleasefollowthestepsbelowtocompletethisprocess.
Choose[Configuration]tabàStorageAdaptersàRightclickoniSCSISoftware
AdaptertoselectProperties.
Selectthe[DynamicDiscovery]tabandentertheiSCSIServerIP
ClickOKandclosethetabtorescaniSCSItargets.

DynamicDiscoverytabtoseethetargets

Snapsyncprovidesablock-basedstoragereplicationfunctionontheES1640dc.For
disasterrecoverywithVMwareSRM,itisoneoftheoptionstoreplicatestorage.

Toconfiguresnapsyncfunction,logintotheNASwebpageandclickontheBackup
Stationicononthepanel.
SelectSnapsyncServerintheleftpaneltoconfigureit.

SelecttheEnableSnapsyncServercheckboxandleavethePortNumberand
Maximumdownloadratewiththeirdefaultsettings.ClickontheCreateHostbutton
tocreateahost.EnterthestorageIPandtheadminloginandpasswordofthe
remoteES1640dcstoragesystem.ClickApplytocreateit.
Theremotehostiscreated.
