Ground Breaking
Ceremony
The Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce was excited
to be involved with a recent ground breaking
ceremony for Insight Eyecare. The current practice
was established by Dr. Bland in 1946 as Warrensburg
Optical Inc. Dr. Hobbs purchased the practice from Dr.
Bland in 1994 and Dr. Curtis became a partner in 1995.
The new two story 10,000 square foot building is only a
block north of its current location at 602 N. Maguire
Street in Warrensburg. Dr. Hobbs, Dr. Curtis, and Dr.
Keirsey along with their team and family members
celebrated by turning the dirt at the new location.
Septagon Construction estimates
the completion date for the new
building to be February 2017.

"Something to Eat" Returns to UCM
April 18-22
Contact: Innovative Public Relations
Celebrate Earth Day 2016 with Campus Christian House as it
hosts the annual “Something to Eat” food drive at the University
of Central Missouri Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22.
Volunteer and join the mission to end world hunger while giving
back to our community. "Something to Eat" will be available
each day at the tent outside the Elliott Student Union from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m., or during the lunch hour in the Fitz Diner or
Westside Market. For $1.50 you can purchased a package of
food that will feed six people in countries around the world.
Your contribution will become a personal effort as you package
the food yourself, purchasing as many packages as you want.
Invite your family, friends, classmates, business or organization
to join you. Members of the surrounding community also are
invited to participate.
More than 1,000 lives were saved last year thanks to local donors
Sodexo and UCM students, faculty and staff. In the past, meals
have been sent to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Guatemala, the Philippines and even in the United States through Harvesters. UCM Campus Christian House’s annual “Something to Eat”
has returned with a goal of 5,000 packages and an increased focus on community involvement. Join local church members,
community leaders and classmates to impact the world together.
Individuals or groups unable to participate during the scheduled
times available sign up for an alternative time slot at ucmo.edu/
somethingtoeat. For more information about UCM Campus

BOY SCOUT TROOP 400
AMERICAN FLAG PROGRAM
Boy Scout Troop 400 greatly appreciates the commitment that
businesses in the Warrensburg community have made by subscribing to our American Flag Program. Subscribers provide a
positive example to our youth and community that it is important to display the American Flag, while at the same time
helping the Boy Scouts of Troop 400 earn monies to pay for
their summer camps and High Adventure camp. Presently,
Troop 400 takes approximately 50-55 scouts to camp each
summer, at the cost of approximately $310.00 per scout. As a

WEEKLY POSITIVE NETWORKING TIP
HOW TO EXIT A CONVERSATION
For more information go to
www.ncgaffinity.com/Cleaning Checklist
This is one of the biggest challenges people have
when networking. It may require a bit of tough love.
Excuse yourself and say, "I enjoyed talking to you."
Or, "It was great meeting you." If you have been
focused on the conversation — in other words, not
looking around the room for someone more important
to talk to — this technique works.
