I would like to introduce those people whom I deeply respect and who
repesent each of our Clinics and Hospital: Ekaterina F. Volova, Tetiana
Yatsyna, Vyacheslav A. Batura, Vitalyi B. Rymarenko, Peter D. Dvorsky.
Ekaterina F. Volova, MD is a pediatrician who provides child medical
care including infant care. Tetyana Yatsyna, RN – is a Chief
Administrator of Adult Clinic and takes care of patients’ logistics
and physicians’ in-office schedule. Vyacheslav A. Batura, MD – is an
orthopedic and trauma surgeon. Vitalyi B. Rymarenko, MD, PhD – is
an obstetrics and gynecology physician and a Chief of Obstetrics
and Gynecology Clinic since its foundation. Peter D. Dvorsky, MD
– is an Emergency Medical Service physician. These MEDIKOM
employees have much in common, especially their devotion and love
of profession, great experience and constant professional growth
and improvement. To my opinion their stories would be the best
presentation of our Clinic and its’ Departments.

in Germany and worked in Sweden. She
worked as an anesthetist in Intensive Care
Department for 9 years. Tatyana started

anesthetist and also worked as a senior
nurse of Emergency Medical Service
ambulance team. She has transported

> At school Ekateryna F. Volova dreamed
of being a children doctor and was admitted
to the Medical Nursing College after the 9th
grade. Then she worked at a child day-care
as a nurse. She completed medical education
at the Pediatric Department of Kyiv Medical
Institute in 1989 and worked as a pediatrician
in the Clinic No.1 of Kharkovskiy District.
Since 2001 she has been treating little
patients at MEDIKOM Pediatric Clinic.

> In his childhood Vyacheslav was
frequently hospitalized for different
reasons and “got infected by a virus of
medical profession». The final decision
was taken after he broke his arm at judo
competition. To make arms heal correctly
he decided to go for orthopedic surgery
and trauma. Being the third year student
of the Crimea Medical Institute he started
to practice at The Department of Trauma
Emergencies and before graduation he
had already performed dozens of surgical
operations. After the internship he
worked in the Neurotrauma Department
at Nikolayev Regional Pediatric Hospital.
In 2003 he started clinical residency
and his PhD studies at The Institute of
Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery in
Kiev. He successfully defended his PhD
thesis in 2009. Vyacheslav A. Batura has
been working at MEDIKOM since 2004.
He is constantly improving his professional
level and implements new technologies in
management of patients with muscularskeletal system disorders. He also
participated in professional trainings in
Germany, Slovenia, and Poland.
A woman with severe complex thorax and
abdominal trauma and multi-splintered tibial
fractures was brought to the MEDIKOM
Hospital in June 2005. She was in severe
health condition and stayed in the Intensive
Care Department for 2 weeks. Intensive
Care physicians and surgeons desperately
struggled for her life. After stabilization of
her vital functions doctor Batura performed
a reconstructive operation on her tibia.
Despite severity of traumas and fractures
everything healed properly and in very next
summer the patient demonstrated her
rhythmic and graceful gait on the incredibly
high heels!

MEDIKOM Hospital provides emergency and scheduled medical assistance serving patients
all over Ukraine and foreign patients as well. We have admissions for surgical operations and
emergencies demanding 24-hour monitoring and doctor’s attendance.
2.SURGEONS WITH OVER 20-YEAR EXPERIENCE
Our surgeons underwent trainings in well-known European hospitals. E.g. Vladymyr M. Schastnyi,
MD had practical externship at the European Training Center for Laparoscopic Surgery (Salzburg,
Austria). Orthopedic surgeon Vyacheslav A. Batura, MD specialized in arthroscopic surgery
underwent training at the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Clinic (Essen, Germany).

All wards in the MEDIKOM Hospital are individual and organized in such a fashion that makes
a patient feel as comfortable as possible. We provide 24-hour medical supervision of an internal
diseases physician, a general surgery specialist and an orthopedic surgeon. Neurology, cardiology and
other specialists’ consults are provided if and when necessary. Each patient may receive an individual
dietetic 3-meals-a-day meal plan.
5.TYPES OF ANESTHESIA
We use all existent types of anesthesia. This allows us to choose individual approach to anesthesia in
patients hospitalized to the MEDIKOM Hospital. A team of the intensive care and anesthesia physicians
and anesthetists are highly-qualified professionals. Our patients frequently thank not just surgeons but
anesthetists as well: success of surgery and post-operation recovery largely depends on the efforts of

The Medical Department of the Kiev Medical
Institute in 1976. Being a student he worked
as a nurse in the Intensive Care Department,
and then he worked also as obstetrics nurse.
Thereafter he worked as an obstetrics and
Gynecology Physician in the Women’s
Reproductive Health Department at the
Scientific Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics
and Gynecology. Later he leaded the
Gynecology Department at the Obstetrics
and Gynecology Hospital No.4. Since 1997
Vitaliy B. Rymarenko has been occupying
a position of a Chief of the MEDIKOM
Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic.

“When I was a student I was amused by deep sense of words
“Serving others burning myself”. And such a story happened many years
ago. A patient with coagulation disorders had complicated deliveries with
severe bleeding at the Regional Hospital and we had the last package of
blood. Decision came in a moment: I had the same blood group and we
made her a direct transfusion. It was tremendous feeling when my blood

of veterinary physicians. By the end
of the high school he decided to be a
physician. After graduation from Ternopil
Medical Academy and internship in
Anesthesia and Intensive care in 2003
he moved to Kiev and started to work
in a General Intensive Care Department
of the Emergency Care Hospital. Such a
work demanded high concentration as
most of the patients were relatively young
people with multiple traumas and in
severe health condition. Peter D. Dvorskiy

24-HOURS A DAY
Call centre of MEDIKOM Clinic received a call for
transportation of a patient with multiple traumas and
fractures from Nikolayev Regional Hospital to Kiev
Institute of Neurosurgery. Emergency Medical team
headed by Dr. Dvorsky arrived there promptly. At the
same hospital another young patient was also received
with multiple traumas and in a very poor condition.
His parents noticed the MEDIKOM Emergency team
and asked for help. Doctor Dvorsky examined this
patient together with local physicians and made
necessary corrections to the treatment plan enabling
his transportation to Kiev. After bringing the first patient
to Kiev the team returned to Nikolaev and transported
the next young guy to a capital within 24 hours. He made
a long way - 600 km distance on lung ventilation and
continuous infusion support therapy. It was really good
decision to transport both patients as Kiev medical centre
had more experience and proper equipment to manage
multiple traumas. A patient was discharged home pretty
soon getting his normal life back.

MEDIKOM is the first private Emergency Medical Service in Ukraine.
We have 10 modernly equipped Mercedes and Ford ambulance cars.
2.TRANSPORTATION OF CRITICALLY ILL PATIENTS
We transport critically ill patients within the territory of Ukraine and also overseas.
We have already performed a number of complex transportations. MEDIKOM has
provided air transportation to foreign clinics (in Poland, Austria, and Italy) and back
to Ukraine from sites (e.g. from Turkey, Southern Italy).
3.MEDICAL SERVICE AT PUBLIC EVENTS AND CONCERTS
We have been providing medical service at concerts and corporate events for almost
20 years. MEDIKOM cared about safety of such bands as Electric Light Orchestra,
Uriah Heep, Scorpions and Prodigy. Our Emergency Medical team serves at various
events such as TV-shows “X-Factor”, “Star+Star”, and “Dancing for you” etc.,
held on the territory of Ukraine and abroad.
