KIA ORA KOUTOU, TALOFA LAVA, BULA VINAKA, MALO E LELEI, HELLO TO ALL!
As this newsletter comes home,
I have the privilege of being
away on the year 6 camp at
Hanmer Springs. This is a
wonderful experience for our
students as they take part in a
fantastic range of outdoor
activities. From orienteering to
climbing trees and jet boating or
hot pools there is truly
something for everyone. We
look forward to telling you more
about our adventures in the
next newsletter :-)
Earthquake remembrance
On Monday, it was of course, 5
years since the day that changed
our city forever. A minute
silence was observed at school,
flag lowered and some balloons
were set off as a mark of
respect. We even had some
road cones sporting flowers out
of them to show respect for
those who did lose their lives. As
a city we now focus our energy
on moving forward, much work
has been done in the city and
much is yet to come. Together
though, we are stronger.
Nitbusters
This popular service will again be
offered this year at
Gilberthorpe. Gemma will be
our liaison person. She will be in
each Monday, please call into
the office if you have any
questions about how this service
will work. We do require
consent before Gemma can work
with students.
PLAY DAY #1!!!
Friday the 4th of March will be
our first “Play day” for the
year. The whole school will be
having a fun day out at Jellie park
pool. This is a great way to
promote our values. We will be
travelling by bus to and from the
pool. It should be a great day out
and we hope to see many of you
coming along with us. Permission
is required, thanks to those who
have returned this already.
Have a fantastic week everyone
Please feel free to make contact
at any time.
