funds the many Respect Life ministries here at Light of Christ.
Donations are needed!:
We will begin accepting items at 9:00 Tuesday morning.
The drop off area is in the J/F wing, rooms 1-3. Please use the far north door.
Unfortunately, we do not have pick up service
No TV’s or Computers can be accepted.

Summer Food Program
Light of Christ Early Childhood Center is very
excited to be offering a Summer Lunch program
this summer, sponsored by the U.S.D.A. Any child
under the age of 18 will be able to get a
nutritionally balanced lunch, Monday through
Friday from 12-12:20 at the Parish Hall. The
program begins on June 13th and is open to all
children. If you know of someone who would
benefit from this program or if you would like to
volunteer to help distribute lunches, please call
the preschool at 442-4797. The volunteer
commitment would be from 11:45-12:45. You can
volunteer as many days that your schedule allows.

Light of Christ Jubilee Cookbook
“Recipes from the Soul”
For our 50th Jubilee Year celebration, Light of Christ is creating a custom cookbook “Recipes from the
Soul” featuring favorite recipes from our parishioners. The cookbooks will be professionally published and
are sure to be a treasured keepsake for us all. Please submit up to 5 of your favorite recipes before May 31,
2016, so you can be represented in our cookbook. Many recipes from all parishioners will ensure that our
cookbook is a success. We are using a website to easily submit recipes online. If you do not have internet
access, we hope you have friends or family who will assist you. For those who have no one to help, we can
submit them for you. A box will be available for you to deposit your recipe(s). Submit your recipes online:

Financial Peace University
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) helps adults to develop a plan by
teaching how to handle money in a way that honors God. Through video teaching, class discussions and
interactive small group activities, FPU presents practical, biblical steps to get you from where you are to
where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to eliminate debt, manage your money,
spend and save wisely and much more! Over 50 people have already completed this class at St. Catherine of
Siena
FPU classes meet for about an hour and a half each week, for a nine-week period, at St. Catherine of Siena
Church, 1955 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater. We will meet each Tuesday at 7:00 PM, beginning June 7, 2016.

Another Thresher’s Game?
That’s right! Back again by popular demand. On Saturday, August 20th at Bright House
Networks Field, the Clearwater Threshers play the Daytona Tortugas. It is Super Hero
Night at the ballpark! Stick around after the game, weather permitting, will be a Fireworks
display. Our group will be part of the Big Shark Café. For $20.00 per person, includes the
ticket to the game and all you can eat and drink for 2 1/2 hours. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and
the game starts at 6:15 p.m. Seated in the covered party deck on the suite level, this
“Theatre Style” padded club seating is out of the weather and a great view of the game. It
also provides a private elevator to the suite level. The menu includes: Hot Dogs, BBQ Chicken
Sandwiches, Hamburgers, Chicken Nuggets, Peanuts, Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Soft Drinks

The Body and Blood of Christ - Dr. Scott Hahn
In this informative presentation, Dr. Scott Hahn, a former Presbyterian minister, provides the biblical basis for the Church's teaching on the Real Presence of Christ in
the Eucharist and the significance of the Feast of Corpus Christi, and gives us a
greater understanding of our vocation to be the living presence of Christ in the world.
Your donation of $3 per CD enables us to continue to offer great titles. Donations
can be deposited into the kiosk donation boxes located in the Church or MAH outside
the Resource Center. Checks should be made payable to Light of Christ.
Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support Group:
Solutions to challenging behaviors. For You are not alone. This informational
support group will be facilitated by Marylou Brennan, Executive Director at
Arden Courts of Largo, helping caregivers through the trying times of caring
for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The support group
makes it possible for families to learn more about the disease, understand
their feelings about the changes dementia has made on their daily lives,
Fourth Tuesday of each month from 11am-Noon, in MAH -7 Contact
