A Note from our President ... Lisa
Stokes As the famous saying goes, "All good things must
come to an end." It's hard to believe that this is
the end of two years serving as your PTA
President. It has been an amazing journey! I have
met and worked with some of the most remarkable women and men over the
course of this time. I have been blessed with an outstanding PTA Board of 44
ladies who have worked extremely hard to support Renner as a whole, the staff
and administration, the awesome kids here and, of course you, the parents. I just
can't say enough about the wonderful people who have dedicated their time,
talents and resources to this school!
At the start of this school year, I had the unique opportunity of presenting to the
teachers during their rotation of inservice days to share the details of what PTA
was all about and what all we do. I wish everyone knew how valuable the PTA
was and how it contributes to the success of the school as well as the value it
brings to the students, teachers and parents. Some of the ways we have served
Renner this year include student social events, teacher appreciation lunches,
teacher treats every six weeks, reflections art program, school supplies, spirit
wear, PE Uniforms, educational speakers for parents, grants to the school for
capital improvements, grants for technology, fundraising for technology, book fair,
teacher birthdays, care committee activities, community outreach programs,
student directory, author visit, educational video for history, speakers for students,
support for counseling staff and more. I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the leadership here at Renner.
This team is open to ideas, innovative and very easy to work with. Thank you to
Ms. Pegram, Mr. Stamper, Dr. Bishop and Mr. Watts for all of your support this
year. We have had a true partnership working together. I am proud to say you will be left in very capable hands. Your new 20162017
Renner PTA Officers are a strong group of experienced ladies headed up by Sara
Burnett and supported by Officers Rita Cunningham, Jeanne Koepke, Alison
Grzyb, Karen Ricketts, Nancy Mills, Kerri Hayes and Stella Heidman along with
the remainder of the newly slated Executive Board and Chairs. (See below.)
Congratulations to all of you!! I know you will do a great job for Renner!
As we close in on the last few weeks of school, I wish everyone a successful year
end and a safe and exciting summer! THANK YOU for my most memorable years
here at Renner....
Lisa Stokes, Renner PTA President

Renner Has the World's Best Teachers
Teacher Appreciation Week was last week at Renner. THANK YOU to all the parents who donated items
toward PTA's efforts to make the week special, and thank you to all the parents who brought special
and thoughtful gifts to their teachers. Our theme was "Renner has the World's Best Teachers," and the PTA
coordinated the following: Monday, we had a "French Bakery" in the teachers' lounge. Thank you
to those who brought in desserts! In addition, we had gift cards for
everyone, donated from the Preston/Park Chickfilla, Taco Cabana,
and Palio's Pizza Cafe. Tuesday, we told the staff "Grazie" with a special
gift, partially sponsored by Trader Joe's, including a reusable Trader
Joe's bag, marinara sauce and pasta. Wednesday was Country Casserole meals from Central Market,
delivered in a reusable cooler. Thank you to everyone who purchased
the casserole meals for each staff member. Thursday, the teachers had a fabulous luncheon catered by Cantina
Laredo!
Friday, the teachers received gift bags of candies made in the U.S.A. (partially sponsored by Market
Street), plus a gift card donated by Ben & Jerry's. Thanks again to all our sponsors for helping us provide goodies to our teachers: Trader Joe's

Not only does Renner have the best teachers, but we also have the best parents, too! 2016 Bond Election Results Combined accumulated totals for the May 7, 2016 Bond Election:
FOR 8,039 (78.54%)
AGAINST 2,196 (21.46%)
Election results/reports can be viewed on the Collin County elections website. Election results

On May 7, 2016, Plano ISD voters passed a $481 million bond proposal to fund initiatives
recommended by the Plano ISD Facilities and Technology Task Force. As a result of this zero
taxrate increase bond, all Plano ISD campuses will be impacted by districtwide security
updates, renovations and facility upgrades, as well as technology improvements. Reroofing
projects and construction of permanent classroom space to replace portables will be funded
from a combination of surplus funds generated through the 2013 Tax Ratification Election (TRE)
and unissued bond funds from the 2008 bond program.
For more detailed information of the proposed allocation of funds, please visit the PISD website
at http://pisd.edu/news/bond.programs/2016bond/index.shtml. 20162017 Renner PTA Executive Board & Chairs We are pleased to announce the new Renner PTA Executive Board & Chairs for the 2016
