Invitation
The Pune Obstetric & Gynecological Society takes pride and pleasure, in inviting fellow members from all over the country, to a
unique conference on Obstetric & Gynecological Surgery, from 14th to 16th Oct.2011.
Ob-Gyn. Surgery is daily routine for all of us. Still, often, it poses a lot of challenges in terms of skill, material, technological
advances and complications. Seldom are these addressed adequately, during our regular conferences & workshops. We intend
to take it head on.
In this “First of its kind” event, we promise to bring a variety of subjects, entirely related to common and not so common surgeries
done in every day practice. An exhaustively designed program, it will appeal to the clinicians, academicians and students; it has
something for all.
Leafing through a bygone era; a fitting tribute to our older masters who practiced this art, some of the surgeries they designed and
performed during their time, will be revisited. A separate section, demonstrating their equipment and technique will be under the
scanner.
On 14th Oct.2011, a dedicated workshop on Obstetric Surgery will be held at the Sassoon General Hospitals and simultaneously,
a workshop on Gynecological Surgery will be held at the Ruby Hall Clinic. The entire gamut of safe surgical techniques will be
demonstrated by specially invited experts.
Oct. 15th & 16th will be the days for the Scientific Program, at the classy Le Meridian. Noted speakers have been invited from
across the country, to discuss topics of interest to everyone. After the days hard work, we intend to let our hair down on Saturday
evening, by hosting a Banquet for all the delegates and invitees, promising more fun.
Pune, a city of culture and education, green and beautiful in October, beckons one and all. It is difficult to escape its magic.
From the era of sepia to the future, all rolled into one mega conference: 'SAFE SURGERY SAVES LIVES' promises to be the
mother of all events.
So friends, block your dates, partake and indulge.

Dear Friends,
The last two decades have seen the emergence of endoscopic surgery as a primary modality but it is absolutely essential to have a basic mastery over the
conventional surgeries before venturing into endoscopy. Keeping this thought in mind, we shall highlight the conventional approaches i.e. abdominal & vaginal
for simple & difficult gynecological surgeries.
We welcome you to the Live Gynecological Surgical Workshop. We intend to demonstrate vaginal, abdominal & endoscopic surgeries which will bring into
focus the basics; as well as highlight the scope of conventional abdominal & vaginal surgeries. This is a unique workshop as it is a blend of vaginal, abdominal,
laparoscopic & hysteroscopic surgeries.
We will also be showcasing surgeries which are rarely performed & exceptionally seen like the Fothergill's Surgery, Vulvectomy to mention a few.
So friends we look forward to welcoming you to this workshop with an extensive list of surgeries & highly eminent faculty.

D ear Friends,
Although Operative Obstetrics has evolved greatly over the years, even most minor obstetric operation can still present a challenge and surprise to even the
most competent obstetricians. Such obstetric dilemmas can invite litigations which are feared by one and all. The main endeavor of this workshop is to reinforce
the basic operative skills of common day to day obstetric procedures and help the clinician to keep pace with the ever changing trends in operative obstetrics.
We are sure that after attending this workshop, the clinicians' confidence levels will definitely rise and they will be able to face obstetric emergencies in a better
way and have a safe surgical practice.
