Robert
Popoli said:
“The best thing about
this musical is that
it doesn’t revolve
around one or two
people, everyone
is involved for the
majority of the show”
“There is a great
combination of back

a soloist and chorus,
and an amazing
diversity of musical
genres shown through
the songs,” said Mrs.
Koekuyt.
Just like Joseph,
Miss Volante and Mrs.
Koekuyt have high
hopes. “Our hopes
for the musical are to
have the cast come
together as a family
within the greater
family of DM. To
have a real sense of
camaraderie. That
the students discover
a personal power
they didn’t know
they had. We also
hope the audience
is pleased with our
efforts and find the
cost of the ticket
worthwhile,” said Miss
Volante.

As the weather
gets warmer,
signs of the
upcoming
sports season
at Denis Morris
are becoming
evident. While
many wellknown and
beloved games
are holding
tryouts and
recruiting, there
are several new
teams starting up
and looking for
students ready to
bring their best
game to the field.

Tryouts will
begin sometime
in late April and
all students are
invited whether
they know the
game or not, as
this is designed
to be a fun
and relaxed
competition for
students.
Denis Morris
is also excited to
be teaming up
with local horse
stables to form
the first DM polo
team! This sport
requires students
to have some
horseback riding
experience and
a love for the
game, as well
as a registration
fee and parental
permission. Once
the team and
schedule are set,
the horses will
be transported to
DM’s field every
Friday, weather
permitting. Listen to the
announcements
for more
information. Mr.
Gifford can’t wait
to coach his first
sport at DM.
Dallas Green to Perform at DM!
Cassandra Jesik, Staff
If the arduous
routines and
rainy weather
are draining your
spirits, prepare
for a splash of
colour. On Friday,
May 24th Dallas
Green of City and
Colour will be
performing at Denis
Morris Catholic
High School in a
generous effort
to raise funds
for school music
programs.
As a former
music student and
alumni of Denis
Morris, Green has
accomplished
many creative
feats, including the
2012 Juno Award
for best songwriter.
This success has
Writer
inspired him to
return to his roots
and give young
musicians the
means to follow
their dreams.
Hailing from
St. Catharines,
Green’s global
achievements
in both City
and Colour and
Alexisonfire
encourage local
teens to believe
that they have
a chance to
break through
the music scene,
even growing up
surrounded by the
commercial barriers
of a small city.
This once in a
lifetime opportunity
will be held in the
school gymnasium
and will be an
exclusive Redmen
event. As space is
limited, the public
will only be able
to purchase tickets
through Denis
Morris staff and
students. If you
and your friends
are interested,
be sure to get
your tickets first,
this intimate DM
concert experience

you’ll want to miss!
ROC cardholders
will also receive

Lucas Lemoine
Anthony is not destined to
leave a legacy, so he will
not be pursuing any further
studies after high school. He
declined all of the university
offers that he has received
and will continue working at
McDonald’s for the rest of
his life.
Isabella has decided to stop
attending school, and has
opted for the online course
program. She still won’t get
much done as she will be
updating her blog and watching
movies constantly.
Cassie will move to the Yukon
in July. With another allergy
season approaching, she has
decided to beat the ragweed
for good. Even though she will
miss her friends, she is looking
forward to seeing some polar
bear action.
Nickie Morris
Arianna has decided to drop
out of high school to follow
her dreams and become an
acrobat. She plans to join
the next passing circus.
Lucas is a very patient
person that is not
humourous and does not like
sarcasm. He dislikes music,
food, and video games. In
the future he wants to to be
an author.
Nickie ran away with her
high school sweetheart and
hasn’t been seen since.
Ariana Pero
Unfortunately Ariana broke
her fingernail and is not able
to graduate this year.
