INTRODUCTION
PAPERS
POSTERS
The Malaysian Society of Soil Science (MSSS), Department of
Agriculture Sarawak (DOA), and UNDP/GEF in collaboration with
the Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP) will hold the SOILS 2007
Conference in conjunction with MSSS Annual General Meeting on
April 17-19, 2007 in Mukah, Sarawak.
Papers to be presented in the conference will be:
A poster session will also be organized. Posters will be accepted
for display at a minimum A1 size (594 x 841 mm; 24 x 33 in). At the
time of submission, all EAs must be camera-ready. There will also
be a “BEST POSTER AWARD” competition.
The theme of the conference is PEAT AND OTHER SOIL FACTORS
IN CROP PRODUCTION. In rain-fed agriculture on tropical soils,
crop production is commonly limited by soil resources. A good
understanding and proper management of soil resources is of utmost
importance to optimize crop production, minimize production costs
and maintaining or enhancing soil resources for future generations,
which should lead to sustainable agriculture and forestry.
This conference provides an ideal platform to all involved in
agriculture especially soil scientists, agronomists, agriculturists,
crop scientists, planters (general managers and estate managers)
and agro-based entrepreneurs to meet and present their latest
research findings, exchange ideas and share experiences especially
on soil science, peat soil management and crop production.
